BLOGMAS DAY 8 -- BRINGING CHRISTMAS TO THE KITCHEN

Hello, friends!  Hope you are all having a wonderful day.  I am writing this pretty late at night because I fell asleep earlier.  I had an update to put on my computer and it turned out that it took almost 4 hours!  So there went blogging earlier.  By the time it was finished, so was I.

I am not doing very well keeping up with Blogmas, but I hope you are enjoying what I put up.  Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post.  I think we are all stir crazy and want to go to a store.  I was going to take pictures inside the stores, but it was too crowded to do that.  And sometimes you just have to enjoy yourself and forget that you have a blog.

There is just one room in my house that is full of Christmas and that is the kitchen.  Is it fully cleaned?  No.  But that is coming along too.  Today I want to show you what I have done with this little room.

I got new curtains for the windows.  I went on Amazon but when they came they were from Collections.  I should have gone straight to them.  I wanted something for winter and not just Christmas so I got these with a snowman holding a cardinal and gold snowflakes.  Yes, there is holly, pinecones and little fir trees along the bottom, but these are winter things too.  I think they are so cute.

Look at how well everything is embroidered.  And because they are white, the kitchen is so bright in the morning.  I guess I got used to the yellow and orange fall ones.  These are really nice.

In one of the windows I put the sign I got at Rite Aid last year.  In 2019 I had it hanging on the side of my pantry.  It says, "Good Old Fashioned Candy Cane Factory.  Manufactured at the North Pole.  Making Christmas sweeter since 1954."  It has cute candy canes on it too.  I told Joe I got the sign since I too have been making Christmas sweeter since 1954.  Ha, ha!  I don't think I was so sweet in 1953 since my mom would deliver me four days later.  She was pretty uncomfortable that year.

On the stove I have a Christmas spoon rest.  It says "Santa loves my cookies."  And since I make good cookies I'll just bet he does!

The reason I moved the candy cane sign this year is because my sister gave me this wonderful tin sign which I promptly hung on the pantry.  It has the little red truck full of Christmas trees that I love.  The words around the truck say, "Farm Fresh Christmas Trees -- Pine, Spruce, Fir."  So, so cute.  I love it so much!

On the back door I hung my Christmas prism.  The holly and berries on top are so sparkly.  They are made of some kind of metal and glitter.  The prism part hangs into the window of the door and gives rainbows around the room when the sun hits it just right.

And finally on the two tiered tray I bought at Target I put a red truck and fir tree candle holder and my little Christmas nisse (gnome).  I have a battery powered candle in the truck and it shines through the star shaped window.

Lots more to do.  So much Joe and I have to do tomorrow.  So I am going to bed and get some more sleep.  I'll see you tomorrow (I hope).  I still have to get pictures of my haul and put the things away.  That's probably going to be my next post.

Until later...

Kathy
