Hello, everyone! I can't believe it's been so long since I spoke to all of you. Ever since my vestibular accident I can't seem to keep track of time. It is very compressed. A week seems like a day and I have trouble remembering things.
How are all of you? I hope things are good in your part of the world. Can you believe that August is almost over? I feel as if it is the beginning of July. And yet, here we are with the kids back into school and soon the leaves will be changing color and falling.
The end of July my sister and I took our annual trip to Lancaster County and I will tell you about that next time. Lots of pictures.
The picture above is of our house decorated for Fourth of July. Joe did all the decorating. We had our friend Rosemary over for dinner. I made an easy dinner of hot dogs, hamburgers and salads. Everything was really good. And believe it of not I didn't go our to see the fireworks even though they were just at the end of our block. I was really tired and not feeling all that good.
My sister gave me these beautiful flowers and I stuck them into the pot on our porch out front. They look so nice there. But it's almost time to take them out and put some fall color in instead.
We were thinking of getting new siding on the front of our house, but there's not enough money right now. Maybe someday. I want to start putting money away so we can do it next summer. But with so many doctor and hospital bills, that's hard to do.
The lady that lived next door to us died and so the house has been empty. Her son didn't want it, and so sold it to some flippers. (It was/is in very bad shape.) What a job those guys are doing. It's very noisy all day. Now there is a dumpster out front of the house. So much stuff going out and for the first time ever I can actually see the street through their front porch windows. Now to get MY front porch emptied.
Yes, we are still going through boxes from when we moved. I had no idea I had accumulated so much stuff in the 42 years I lived in my old house. But it is finally getting there because I am working on it every day. Getting sick really set me back with my plans. I found a place which will come and pick up my donations and so things are going out the front door without me having to load up my car and drive around trying to find someone to take them. That is a real Godsend. Two ladies at church told me about it. It's how they are decluttering.
I'm going to end for now and next time I will tell you about the trip to Lancaster County. With pictures. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
Kathy
