JONAS HAS COME AND HE WON'T GO AWAY!

It's here!  The snow began falling last night around 7 p.m. and it is expected to stop somewhere around 7 a.m. tomorrow.  Yes, over 24 hours of snow.

I finally found my charger for my camera.  It's been missing for a week and I have missed taking pictures so badly.  So here are some pictures of the snow for you.

The snow is halfway up the tires of my neighbor's car.

My car is the third from the left.  I don't know how I'm going to get it off of the lot.  Fortunately I don't have to for a couple of days.

Another picture from in front of my house.

No one is going anywhere soon.

This is taken through the screen on the kitchen window.  you can see the table and the two trash cans.

Ice on the upper part of the window.

The snow looks so pretty on the holly tree.  But look how the snow has drifted up to the second story of the building in back.

It just goes on and on,

Just the tip of the two foot snowflake post is showing.  The solar one is almost covered too.

This is a four foot fence.  Uh.. yeah.

Church has been cancelled for tomorrow.  There is no public transportation running and it will take us hours to dig out our cars.  If you can't walk there, you're not getting there.  Even the airport and Amtrak are closed.

I am watching "Undercover Boss" and cleaning up the stuff on the living room floor.  I don't know how things pile up so quickly.  But I'm making great headway.  At least it's a productive day.

A group of kids came and cleaned off the sidewalk for $10.  They are coming back tomorrow morning to do it again.  Later one of the neighbor guys came and did it again.  At least neither Joe nor I have to do it.

My fireplace is doing double duty these days.  It's chilly in the living room.

I have my crackling wood candle burning and it smells so good in here.

I'm making flounder fillets, honey biscuits and steamed mixed veggies for dinner.  And I'm hungry now so I'm looking forward to it.

Stay safe and warm, everyone.  Don't take any chances trying to go someplace.

Kathy

  1. Sending some warm hugs to you and Joe. Kathy, that is a mess and will take days to clear it all. Just stay in where you are safe and watch some movies. It's sunny and pretty here. not rubbing it in, just enjoying it. You know I am not a snow loving person. You may have to throw some bread crumbs out for the birds. I just filled our feeders...again and put out a plate of bread crumbs. Blessings to all of you in that bad storm. xoxo,Susie
p.s. I loved the cartoon picture.

    1. I would throw out bird seed for the birds if I could open the door. The snow is half-way up. I hope to get out to feed the outside cat if I can. I hope he's OK and survived this mess.

  5. So glad you found me again too! My computer crashed and I had a time getting everything set back up from factory sets. It has been a nightmare. Anyway, I guess by now you are retired. How is it going? Stay warm and safe. Hope the week ahead is a good one.

    1. Retirement is so so. I've just got to get myself on some kind of schedule that works for me. I am happy that I don't have to go out in this.

  6. Just been listening to the news reports and looking at the traffic cams, there's a lot of snow. I expect there will be lots of kids out looking for extra pocket money for clearing the snow so they may be able to help. As you say its a good time for all those indoor jobs. All the best.

    1. I have some kids do the walkway yesterday and they are coming back today. I don't mind paying kids to do a good job. And it saves me from doing it with my asthma.

  7. Pictures are great! I haven't been out yet but may go to take some photos. The radio just said the snow total is 22.4 inches. At 5',that's past my knees! Ha ha! The untouched snow always looks so pretty....like frosting. Our cable is still out but we're finding many other things to do;including those little chores that get put aside. Stay in & stay warm!

    1. It's a good time for those little chores. I'm doing the same thing. The snow is pretty for a couple of days and then I want it to go away. Hope you get your cable back soon.
