A POEM FOR JUNE

SUMMER by Lee Bennett Hopkins

Fairgrounds
Ferris wheels
cotton candy
heat

always --
always --
cool snow cone treats

baseball games
fireworks
mosquito bites

what
surprises
occur
on
long
summer
nights.
