The entire front section of the store was Christmas. Velvet poinsettias. Ornaments. Decorations. Trees. My eyes lit up and I think I must have said, "Oh...!" Joe told me to just stay there and enjoy myself while he went to get what he needed and he would meet me back there. That's all I needed to hear. Oh yes! I LOVE Christmas!
So I slyly took out my camera and clicked away so I could share it with you, my loyal readers.
I told you we didn't leave with just one thing. I saw the amaryllis and just had to have one. There were all red ones and this pretty red and white one. That's the one I wanted. It reminds me of peppermint. Just right for Christmas. There were paperwhites too, but after my last foray with them, I won't get them again. You can read about the time I grew them in 2010 right HERE.
I loved looking at the ornaments and blow ups and trees. And all the little trinkets. Oh so lovely. I know a lot of people would rather wait until later in the year to look at Christmas things, but I could look at them all year long. I would love working in a Christmas store.
One of my favorite things there was this toy phone. When you picked it up, Santa started talking to you. "Hello, this is Santa at the North Pole. Have you been good this year?" "Hello, this is Santa at the North Pole. I'll be seeing you soon." It was so cute.
So now it's time for me to get off of here and start dinner. Stuffed peppers tonight. Yum.
Until later...

Kathy, Today my daughter asked about Thanksgiving....yikes...that's close enough...now Christmas too. It's so hard to believe isn't it honey? I am so glad Ted has the handmade gifts ready and I always give money. I just can't shop anymore like I used too. Hope your flower grows. It will be fun to see it on your blog. Bless your heart, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is right around the corner. Hard to believe, isn't it? This year has flown by. I am planning on doing weekly shots (or more) of the amaryllis. I think it will be fun to watch it. They are so beautiful, but don't last very long.
Deleteoh I love this too!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt seems so early but I guess its not is it lol,, coming fast!! That phone would be just perfect for our grand daughter,, I will have to see if they have this in Canada!! I love the Amaryllis too and last year I had the Peppermint looking one ( not the correct name lol, sorry ) but you know what I mean, I love them,, thanks so much for sharing Kathy have a super weekend!
Yeah, I don't know the right name either, but mine's the same as you grew last year.
DeleteI think that phone would be so cute for your granddaughter. I hope you can find it.
I could look at Christmas all year long, too, Kathy. I used to do craft shows so worked on Christmas stuff all summer to have it ready for the fall/winter season. I really have pared down my Christmas stuff this last couple of years though...and my kids are richer and I am poorer in decorations now. I collected Christmas things for my whole adult life so it was hard to let some of it go-but I knew I needed to do that.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful weekend...what is left of it anyway. xo Diana
I used to do craft shows with my mom, so I know what you mean about working on Christmas stuff during the summer. You have to to have enough stock to sell.
DeleteSeems kinda early! Don't the stores usually wait until after Halloween?
ReplyDeleteBut...I do love looking at it all!
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Oh, the stores get stuff out as soon as possible to make more profit. I may not buy, but I sure do love to look!
DeleteSLOW DOWN!!! I'm so not ready for Christmas yet my friend :)
ReplyDeleteIt's Christmas all year round for me. One year I gave my sister a Christmas party for her birthday. Her birthday is in July! We wrapped her gifts in Christmas paper and played carols on the CD player. My mom even made her a Christmas stocking.
DeleteYour blog was a real treat today! I LOVED following the camera over the decorations. The phone is
ReplyDeleteprecious. I think everyone has a child that would like that.I never thought of throwing a "Christmas in July" birthday party. How cool! I love the wonder...the magic of Christmas;seeing the children's faces...Thank you for sharing!
Maybe we will stop in on Tuesday after Bible Study. It's a real treat to see it in person.
DeleteIt was fun throwing the Christmas birthday party. Just something different.
