Hope you all had a lovely October Sunday. I sure did. It's always great to go to church to worship the Lord and spend time with my friends. So far I am really enjoying October.
This morning I went to the kitchen to get my morning medicine and as I stood there everything (well, almost everything) on the top of my glass cabinet went sliding to the floor. There's just so much you can try to balance before there's a landslide. I took my pill and then went to work cleaning things up. I got rid of recycling, grabbed baskets, put things away and here is the result.
The sugar and flour canisters are in the back. The large basket has Joe's covered cups. He uses them so he doesn't spill things when his hands shake. Then I put all the K-cups in another smaller basket. I had no idea I had so many K-cups! There's Joe's coffee and my tea all mixed up. But we'll figure it out. At least there's not 6 almost empty or half empty boxes up there with a couple of full ones. I'm going to put a little pumpkin or a little cat on there with them.
After church I got in my car and looked up to check my mirrors. I saw this. I wasn't sure what I was seeing. Was it an owl? I grabbed my camera and zoomed in on it. It sure looked like an owl, but was it real? It wasn't moving. I wasn't sure. So I took this picture.
At first I thought it was real, now I'm not so sure. I think it's a fake. If it is still there when I go back later this week, I will know it's a statue.
I got some decorating done. Hopefully I will do more this week. Here are some pictures for you.
The scarecrow on the inside of my front door.
The pumpkin wreath on the outside of my front door. This is new this year and I just love it.
My little shelf is all decorated for fall. I might put a few more little pumpkins on it.
Here's the back door. So cute. And it's all sparkly.
I have lots more to put out and I'll show you as I go along. But now it's time for dinner. I'm trying a new pasta recipe that was in my Betty Crocker email the other day. It's penne with onions, mushrooms and spinach topped with cheese and bacon. It sounds good so I hope it is.
Until later...
Kathy

It looks like Fall is in full swing at your house, I love all the decorations !
ReplyDeleteWe have one of those owls sitting beneath the tree canopy in the woods, it's purpose is to keep the hawks at bay, but we have since found out, THAT doesn't work....lol
Lovely post Kathy.

When I was sitting in the church parking lot, the owl looked real. When I saw the picture, I thought it looked fake. You are right, it's probably fake.
DeleteThis is just the beginning of my fall stuff.
Not sure about that owl! You'll have to update us when you go back. We hiked today and heard an owl...I looked and looked but couldn't see it! Did yours go 'hoo hoo'? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMy owl did nothing. That's why I'm now thinking it was just a statue.
DeleteYour decorations are so pretty! It looks like fall. My guess is the owl isn't real, though he certainly does look it. Let me know if he flies away!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie. There's lots more to come. I have more fall decorations than any other time of year except Christmas.
DeleteWe'll have to see if the owl is still there when we go to church on Sunday.
Oooh, I love your fall decorations especially the door pumpkin. I don't think I have ever seen one just like that. About the owl, you could have gotten out of your car and walked around to the side to see if he turned his head. But then, you might have been afraid that he would fly off. Well, we will be waiting for your report on the owl. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteI got the door pumpkin 50% off at Rite Aid. I always get the best stuff there. The things on the shelf are also from there.
DeleteI was pretty far away from the owl, about 1/2 block. I don't think it would fly away but the more I look at it, I don't think it's real.
We were out and about on Sunday so we weren't in church. But we read a portion of Ephesians 5 and talked about it before we left for our trip across the river into WA...museum time. Beautiful day! we had a good time and made it safely home. Will be blogging about that soon! I pulled out these tiny Charlie Brown minis of the great pumpkin and set them on my village display Tuesday evening. I was going through my buffet table and saw them...time to put them out! Fun! Not done any other decor but the pumpkin I bought a few weeks ago. Happy weekend!
