DECORATING FOR THE HARVEST

I love those fall colors.  I think that's what I like most about the fall.

Yesterday's weather was lovely.  It was warm but there wasn't the humidity we have in the summer.  I love running out to the car or into the yard and not having to put on a coat or sweater or jacket.

In the afternoon I met Carolyn at church and we got all the decorating done for Harvest Day tomorrow.  We really didn't go all out decorating the walls, windowsills, etc. as we have sometimes done in the past.  Instead we concentrated on making beautiful tables.

I think the tables turned out really nice.  In fact much nicer than I expected them to.  I'm glad I saved the candle holders and autumn leaves from last year to use this year.  New flowers and the mini pumpkins I got at Target are just perfect.

The paper cups you see are for the mini chocolate bars I got.  We didn't want to put the chocolate out until Sunday morning.

I didn't realize I got a picture of Pastor Ralph and Carolyn until I enlarged it.  I was taking a shot of the tables, but there they are!

The new tablecloth was the perfect size for the smaller table with the beverages, but a little too short for the long one where the food will go.  We took a longer orange tablecloth that we already had and put it on and then the smaller decorative one on top.  Perfect!  The dishes we have are some we found at the church.  There are two different designs but that just adds to the fun.  The napkins are some old and some new also.  I love using things up and this is just perfect.  Mix and match!

Carolyn told me that she and Pastor Ralph are bringing mulled cider.  They are using the coffee urn to keep it warm.  Cool!

This is going to be so much fun.  I am so looking forward for tomorrow.

  1. Kathy, Wishing you and the church members a happy Sunday celebrating fall. A good church group is like a family. You can feel safe and loved. Your short hair cut is still looking good. I like that length. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Thanks, Susie. You are so right about a church family.

I was just thinking the other day how much I like my hair this length. I get it cut every 3 months and that seems to be just about right. I think I will keep it this way for awhile. Maybe a long while.

    1. Oh, Shelia, I hope it will go off good. It sure has a lot of planning involved. Cider and I are not friends, but I think I will have to try a little bit anyway.

    1. Thanks, Diana! We did a lot of work getting everything set up. And bless you for thinking I lost weight. I actually gained by not being as active, but if I look like I lost, I'll take it!
