COME ON, KATHY, TIME TO WAKE UP

It's time to wake up and go to work.  Not many Saturdays left where I have to spend it working.  And the Saturdays I have worked have been fairly quiet.

I am so tired.  I slept for most of yesterday and I am still tired.  Several other symptoms are also letting me know that this thyroid is still not my friend.  But it's getting there.  I'm sure that in a few months we will be best buds again.  Ha, ha.

My car went into the garage yesterday because I could not get the "check engine" light to go off.  Before they couldn't find the problem, but this time they did.  It is something to do with the exhaust system.  They told me and I nodded my head as if I understood.  Joe understands and that's all that matters.  But anyway, they have to order the part and I will go back next Friday to have them put it in.  I have to get the car inspected next month and it would not have passed with this problem.  Better to get it fixed now and then have the cost of the inspection taken out of a different paycheck.

I had a huge list of things to do yesterday and I did nothing.  Joe has been so helpful cleaning the bathroom, doing wash, doing dishes.  I don't know what I would do without him.

I made tea for us yesterday.  I would have called it lunch, but we didn't get to eat it until 3:30 p.m.  I made grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, sliced a tomato that I got off of our volunteer tomato plant (it was SO good!), and had four crackers with pumpkin spice cookie butter on them.  Yum!  I had pumpkin spice tea and Joe had coffee.

Dinner was baked salmon fillet, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies.  Joe kept saying it was awesome.  I guess I haven't lost my touch at cooking even though I haven't been doing much of it lately.

I did get a few more Fall/Halloween decorations up.  I will have to take some pictures this weekend to show you.  I want to finish up tonight after I get home.  At least this is an early day.  We get out at 5:00 p.m. today.  The rest of the week it's either 6:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.

I have to get a move on.  I got myself a pumpkin muffin for breakfast this morning.  I love pumpkin so this time of year is just perfect for me.  So until later...

  1. Kathy, I hope you can get your thyroid regulated...keep getting it checked. My twins have both had theirs' removed...Liz had cancer in her and Karen's was enlarged and causing problems. Blessings for a great weekend...even as you work. xoxo,Susie

    1. My mom had this same problem. It took a little while, but once the right dose was found she was fine. I expect the same.

  3. I get tired by 4th day of work. Friday is first day off and sometimes I don't get up and get going like I should. Did that yesterday and I am annoyed at myself. Didn't get a few things done. I did make a good dinner with
boneless pork loin chops, carrots and tiger bread from store bakery. Busy day today. Our youth pastor is leaving which is a surprise. We will really miss them. Sweet family. Life moves on. Get some rest. Hugs!

    1. It sounds like my day. Sorry to hear about your youth pastor leaving. It's been really hard since our pastor left. Lots of changes in store.

  4. Before I met my husband, he decided to get a capsule of radioactive iodine to kill cells in his thyroid. This was about 20 years ago. He told me he couldn't touch anybody for 90 days and he couldn't eat off of the same dishes as everyone else. He had to use disposable plates and cups. I'm not sure if they still offer that same procedure, though... :)

    1. My friend had that done for her HYPERACTIVE thyroid. I have HYPOACTIVE thyroid. Doing that procedure would kill me. Glad your husband came through OK though.

  6. Glad they found the problem with your car. Just hope the fix doesn't hurt your pocket too much. Out of curiosity, why do you have to have it inspected?

    1. In Pennsylvania we have our cars inspected once a year to make sure they are safe to drive and emmissions are a. Certain level.
