FRIDAY VIEWS AND A GIVEAWAY WINNER

I am working tomorrow, so had today off as my free day.  I got up fairly early and got a lot done.  I cleaned the living room, straightened the dining room, got a load of wash done and made an apple and cranberry pie.  The last time I made it was right after my surgery last year when I couldn't eat solid food.  So at least tonight I could eat it and it was really good.

Our friends Carole and Walt came over for dessert tonight.  We have not had them over in a long time and it was really nice spending time with them again.  We showed them our pictures from Williamsburg on the computer.  But I found out that they are all mixed up because we used two different cameras.  Now I have to go through them and put them in order.  That is going to take some time.

As I was straightening up for their visit tonight I leaned over to pick up a bag of recycling to take outside and threw my back out.  I am in so much pain and can hardly move.  I don't know how I am going to work tomorrow, but I have to show up because I am the only one there tomorrow with a key to the library.  If I don't come, no one can get inside.  I can't even leave early because I have to lock up at the end of the day.  Sigh.

Well we have a winner in my giveaway from last week.  I wrote down the names of the three entrants and put them in a bowl and drew one out.  The winner is Linda!  Congratulations, Linda.  Please email me your address and I will send the potholders to you next week.

My view for this Friday is rather unusual.  Here it is November, it's already snowed, and my roses are blooming and I even have new buds.  This is really strange.

I am going to end this because the painkillers are making me very tired.  I have to go to bed.

  2. Congrats to Linda on winning! Enjoy the potholders.

I know what you mean about the roses. My yellow are blooming but not the red ones. What really surprised me is that my coleus is totally weeds. I didn't think anything could do that so fast! They are so hardy. Oh well.... I do miss their bright colors. They'd grown to 2 feet tall &
    almost as wide.

Backs are really delicate in some ways. A certain turn, lift, whatever can really cause pain. I hope you feel better soon.
