SATURDAY GOALS

And time just continues to fly on by.  The sun is setting earlier and earlier and the calendar pages keep flipping.  How can it be just 40 days till fall?

I have so much to do today but wanted to touch base with you all.  My goal today is to clean my entire living room.  And if you saw it, you would know it's a monumental task.  I may not get everything done, but I want to make a good stab at it.

So, what am I doing?  Watching YouTube and writing my blog.  And reading Facebook.  And sitting here instead of getting dressed, feeding my boy Jack the cat, and doing dishes and laundry.  I have no ambition except in my list of things to do.

Do any of you get like this?  You know you have tons to do.  You know you can do SOMETHING on the list.  And instead, you sit and do nothing.  I must be getting old.

But I have given myself a deadline to get this house under control and I have to get on with it if I am going to make the deadline.  So, this is a short visit today.  I am getting off of here and doing something.  Anything.

By the way, if you haven't seen my YouTube video of my first day of Sisters Getaway, it went up yesterday.  Here is the link.

Hope you all have a good day.  And a productive one.  See you all soon.

Kathy

  1. No, you are not alone, Kathy, because I too have days when there are lots of things on the "to do" list but not much ambition to start. I'm sure you will get everything done, just don't rush yourself too much.

  2. It's hard to be motivated to do big cleaning jobs. I have to do a little at a time and just keep at it. I never get done taking so many breaks but nobody worries about it except me! lol Sweet hugs!

  3. Yeah that's me at times doing something else instead of doing the things that need to be done. I'm on my lunch at work so will watch video later. Have a good weekend.

  4. Definitely not alone. That's why I find Flylady's timer method helpful. Sometimes I have to set it for less than 15 minutes, but things get done slowly but surely.

  5. Yes I know the feeling and it has increased since I had a serious fall in January 2021. Like you, I'm taking a room at a time. Everything may not be done in one day but, in a weeks time, I can accomplish something. . This week I'm repainting the base boards in our service porch, extra bathroom, and kitchen. I'm using a rolling low stool to reach those areas. If all goes well, I will paint the office walls : ). I have high hopes at the start...lets hope the baseboards are painted by Friday!

  8. Kathy, This has been one really hot summer...but I do not want it to end too quickly. I dread the longer hours of darkness. Talk about not want to get my butt in gear to work... Yikes, I am a slug some days. I still need to thin out stuff...this after moving and donating enough clothes to open a boutique. Plus giving away any large cooking pots or pans ...cause girl I am not into cooking so much. I think we all need to team up with friends and take turns helping one another do our cleaning. LOL. Do you think it would work? Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. Count me in! I start out ok but get easily sidetracked. One day i got hooked on an episode of Perry Mason (near lunch time) another day I was just starting & it was Leave It To Beaver. Nice to know I'm not alone! I actually did a load of laundry & the dishes. Guess that counts. I agree that even a little is something.

  10. Hi Kathy, I always have a running list of things I need to do. I start out thinking I can get a certain number of tasks on my list done in one day but I'm happy if I even get one done. ha! If I tackle a task first thing in the morning after I've had my coffee and am dressed, I do good but as soon as I sit down and get on the internet or start reading a book, I'm pretty much done for the day. Still, it's amazing when I finish all the tasks in a week instead of a day. Then I start a new list because there's always something needing to get done:(

  11. Loved hearing about your trip! Do you ever blog about your childhood and siblings? That would be fun to read. :)
