SOME CHRISTMAS THINGS YOU HAVEN'T SEEN... YET

Welcome to my blog and the continuation of Christmas.  Let me tell you, Christmas continues around here until New Year's Day.

It was cold today.  I mean COLD!  Like 13* cold.

I'm not liking the cold too much.  Even our home is cold inside.  The trouble with old houses is they are drafty.  I put the fire on this morning and it's still on.

But in spite of all of this, I thought I would show you some Christmas things you haven't seen yet.  There's still more that I haven't taken pictures of and hopefully will before I put them away for the season.

First I want to give you a better look at the swag I got for the front door.  It is so beautiful and I'm glad I got it.

It's so gorgeous when all the gold sparkles in the sun.

I got most of my cards up and hung the stockings.  Do you see your card there?

It's nice that so many people remember us during the holidays.

Only a few more days and I will be taking everything down and putting up the snowflakes and snowmen.  January and a new year is close at hand.  Joe and I are talking about how we will celebrate it.  How do you see in the new year?  Or do you just go to bed and wake up to it the next day?  I'd love to know.

Have a wonderful day today!

Kathy

  1. Its rainy and was a bit windy on my way home from bible study this evening. Warmer than Monday for sure. Not sure what we're doing for New Years. More than likely stay home. Watch a movie or play a game. Nice decor. Happy New Year and may you stay healthy and be loved. Hugs!

  2. When the sun hits the sparkle decorations they really do shine! I agree about the cold. It's cold even for me,as I usually love it. Depending on the cold,we'll probably go to brunch at IHOP. We're more the'greet it the next day' than stay up. I pulled cartilage in my right rib area. Painful but nothing to do so whatever we do will be
    slow & easy.ha ha!
Hope you have a safe, healthy & HAPPY NEW YEAR! (And Happy B-day!)

  3. Kathy, I always love the peanuts cartoons. :):) I saw that you got a beautiful card from Linda and LD. Isn't it gorgeous , worthy of framing. Sweetheart, it is cold here too and think about the whole U.S. is freezing. I hope it doesn't last much longer. Regular cold winter days are enough. Stay warm and above all stay safe if you go out . Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. I love the swag too and it was my favorite 'new' decoration this year. I see Linda's card with the Santa! Stay warm my friend! Bundle up! Oh...and we usually take a midnight walk around the neighborhood to ring in the new year! Hugs!

  5. I love the front door swag! Isn't it nice to make a purchase that doesn't disappoint?!!
No card from us because I gave up trying to send them ages ago. It just wasn't happening! The evidence of tons of Christmas cards unsent when I went through stuff before moving cemented that decision :)
We don't have plans for seeing the new year come in. That could all change though!
    Stay warm!!

  6. Christmas does come and go quickly the older we get. I am starting to gather things, getting ready to put them away until next year. I love how you display your greeting cards on the stairway! Great idea! We usually just watch the ball drop on TV and go to bed, but this year we will be celebrating with friends and neighbors at our clubhouse. It will be fun to do something different for a change!!

  8. Your door swag is very pretty and I like the way you have your Christmas cards. Cold here too and our fireplace goes most of the time. For New Years Eve, we will cozy in, and if we can stay up to see the ball drop, we will, but more than likely we will be snoozing by then!

  10. You always find the best graphics and cartoons. 😀 I saw the New Year in last year, but this year I will probably go to bed when I get tired. Your staircase is a good place to display Christmas cards.

  11. Your stair case looks so nice with all the cards and the stockings. We like to keep Christmas things up a bit longer too. Pogo and I usually just snuggle under our blankets and watch the ball drop on the TV. We love watching the fireworks displays. That fleece top you are wearing is just beautiful. You have a super evening. Hugs, Edna B.

  12. We also display our holiday cards as I enjoy seeing them all season long. Most likely we will watch a movie at home and be asleep before the new year. It will arrive regardless. Sending best wishes to you and Joe for a very Happy New Year🍾🥂
