THE COMFORTS OF HOME

I really didn't know what to write about this month.  Usually there is some writing on the page that I can draw from and as hard as I looked there wasn't any this month.  So I looked at the picture to decide.  Lemonade?  Roses?  I finally thought this looks so cozy and inviting that I would talk about the comforts of home.

Each of us has a place that we call home.  A welcoming place.  A place where we feel safe.  My home is rather cluttered and dusty right now.  I am working on it.  Does that make it any less inviting to me?  Not at all.  It is my haven.  The place I come to at the end of a long day at work and find the man I love waiting for me.  It is where I have my things.  Things that are important to me.  Things I enjoy seeing.

Isn't there someplace we all feel cozy in?  Someplace we like to be more than any other?  I think there is.  A cottage or a palace, there's no place like home.

I agree with you, Home is the place I want to be, most of the time.

    1. It's good to go away, but it's always good to return home too.

  2. Yes, it's nice to come home. Phil and I were gone today for a memorial service for my aunt Artie. She was married to my uncle Nathan, who's my mom's only sibling. So we've been gone almost 7 hours. It feels good to relax. Home safe. Where we feel good! and blessed by our Lord!

  3. Kathy, You are so right. I absolutely love to travel, but when it's time to come home, I am so ready to be here. Our homes should be a best place to be. xoxo,Susie

  4. You are so right, Kathy. That old adage -there is no place like home-rings so true. I love coming home to a clean house and fresh linens on the bed...It is the best place to be after a stressful day- xo Diana

  5. HOME is where the heart is! Be it ever so humble, there's no place like HOME!! I think my home IS me! Is that crazy? I love my home.....as imperfect as it is. Sanford and Son STILL live in a corner of my back yard and there is nothing really special about my home other than it is FULL of things I love! I am so happy that YOU love YOURS!!! AND we have the SAME kitchen floor!! I think about you every time I clean mine!

    1. I agree that each of us puts our own stamp on our home. Our floors may be the same now, but next week we are getting a new one!

  6. You picked the perfect thing to write about! When I first saw the picture,I thought "Home".It looks so
welcoming... Our home is us..who we are.My home is cluttered & dusty at times too but the best compliment
I've ever had was from my nephew who said " It's always great to come here cause it's so comfortable! I feel at home." THAT is what I want my home to be. May we each enjoy our homes today!

  7. Home is exactly where the heart is...
For me, I never stop improving it's where ALL MY MONEY GOES... really,
I love coming home , walking to the smell of Clorox and Gain though my laundry room as I make it to my living room the smell of Clean cotton fills the air. I sit on my cozy leather recliner until the baby wakes or my husband says "where's dinner"
    I love being home.
I love buying plants from home depot or lowes, I love going to Marshalls and going straight towards the housewares, and I love adorning my home with things that speak to me..
Kathy what an excellent post I love it.
    HOME SWEET HOME.
    XO Marissa

  8. I so agree! Even when my house is messy...it's comfortable to me. I love just puttering around the house and being inside when it's hot outside...like it is now. And June is my favorite month! Enjoy your week my friend! Sweet hugs, Diane
