FRIDAY VIEW

Thanks everyone for your kindness and caring.  It appears there is no break in my foot but it is a bad sprain.  Glad it's not broken, but it sure does hurt!  And when I got home from work it was really swollen.

As for the car, I took it over to the garage my friend Carole recommended and she met me there.  She took me home and then came back later and took me to work.  I waited and waited to hear from her.  She called about 5 p.m.  It turns out that the new compressor was put on (which was a really hard job) and then he put in the freon.  But it didn't get cold.  So Carole's husband, Walt, took it back to his used car lot and put more in.  It ran out as fast as he put it in.  So now it is back at the original garage and tomorrow they will search for the broken hose.  *sigh*  It's never easy, is it?  But I will get the car back tomorrow whether it is fixed or not.  (I hope it is though).  Carole was nice enough to come back for me at 8 p.m. and take me home and is going to pick me up and take me to work this morning.

Just one more day of work and then two days off.  I am so looking forward to it.

For your Friday View I am going to show you the bee hive we have over the front door of the library.  They have been there for years and have never bothered anyone.  People are scared of them and are always coming in to tell us about them.  We always say "We know.  Don't bother them and they won't bother you."  It doesn't always go over good, but what can we do?  The city put up some screening to keep them out, but they found a way in anyway.

Do you see them?  Look way up at the tower.

Keep looking.  They really are there.

How about now?  Now you see them!
And here's a short video for you.

Enjoy your day!

Kathy

    1. I'm with you. I don't hate bees, not even afraid of them even though I've been stung, but I'm not going to bother them either.

    1. A lot of my work is done sitting down since I became the supervisor so it's not that bad. I even have a little bench to put it up on. It's getting better, just going to take some time.

  3. I think they are "smart" bees, living at the Library!
Have a good two days off!

  4. Kathy, I would think it would have been easier and cheaper to hire a beekeeper to take the bees . Hope no one gets stung, as some people are very allergic. No me , getting stung by bees was apart of growing up when I was a kids. I just do not swat at them , if I can help it. LOL.. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
p.s. keep your foot up as much as possible...the swelling makes the pain worse.

  5. I think the bees are really wasps. Every body calls them bees and they are totally different than that! I have people coming into the hardware store wanting bee killer when in fact they are wasps or hornets. Bees we need as they have been killed off. Wasps and hornets have nests. Maybe someone can spray them in the evening when it is cooler and the wasps are in their nest. Kills more that way and there's not a bunch flying around after you!
It is quite hot here, about 98 degrees. So thankful for a/c in our house and car and most of the stores I went into today. Looking hot for the next week. Cooler on Sunday which will be nice as our church is having an outdoor service and picnic afterwards. I hope your car gets fixed with a/c. May your sprained foot get better soon. No fun though. Have a good weekend, my friend!!! :-} xxx

    1. No, they aren't wasps, they are bees. I've seen them up close and personal. Yellow and black striped, round bodies, stingers. Yep, bees. They have been sprayed, but are still there. Can't do anything at night. It's city property and fence around it is locked. Besides, city government does not work at night under any circumstances except for the police and fire.

Hope you are doing OK in the heat. It's cooler here next week -- 70s and 80s. Still no a/c at work or in my car. It's been fun.
