THE FIRST ROBIN

It finally happened.  A few days ago I saw a robin in our back yard.  It is the first one I have seen this year.

He was a handsome fellow.

Joe had thrown out some bread and the robin went right for it.

The male cardinal came into the yard to join him.

Today I saw two robins in the church yard.  Maybe Spring is really here.  Maybe?  (The snow that some people had today doesn't count.)

  1. That’s how I’ll think about it, too. That snow? It doesn’t cout!

Believe it or not, I saw my first robin last Saturday...way up here!

  4. We've had robins and a few other birds coming around these last few weeks. Now that the weather is breaking, I'm hoping to see lots more of them. Happy Spring! You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.

  5. It took longer to see them here but they've been out in full force the last few weeks. Been seeing lots of cardinals too. Their song is so pretty!
Today was in the 50's so maybe it will warm up to the 60's again soon. Loved the weather last Thursday-Friday!

  6. Aw, we haven't seen any here yet. Only a squirrel scampered across the patio today. Snow is coming tonight. AGAIN. I am happy that you have robins and cardinals visiting your yard.

  7. beautiful photos! I was just recently told that robins like to eat raisins, so if you have old raisins lying about maybe they would like them, apparently bread isn't their first choice of food, but of course the poor things are starving with worms and grubs not out yet, take care Kathy!

  8. I grew up in Wisconsin and we were always excited by the first robin to return in spring. They are attractive and not aggressive birds and sure enjoyed eating worms on our lawn when the grass reappeared.

  9. I am trying to catch up this weekend. When the birds start coming around, we know spring and summer is just around the corner. Hope you have a nice weekend.
