Many of us have tons of blog friends. Seldom does a blogger pass over into being a real friend. But that has happened with several of my blog friends. One of them was Mona. She was the sweetest lady and besides blogging she would write me long letters in the middle of the night when she couldn't sleep. We shared our lives with each other knowing that we would keep the secrets and share the joys.
Today Mona's son wrote on her blog to let us know of her passing from pancreatic cancer. The world needs more Monas and her death will leave a large hole. Rest in peace, Mona. You had a hard life with many losses. I hope you are finally able to rest with your loved ones now.
I will be back later with my usual post.
Kathy
How incredibly sad.
ReplyDeleteMay Mona rest in peace, and my condolences to both you and her family.
Hugs,
~Jo
She and her family have gone through quite a bit of tragedy. I'm glad she is at peace.
DeleteA very sad time for sure. Our blog friends are as real to us as someone who lives next door.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are. I will miss her terribly.
DeleteKathy, I had been missing Mona's blogging...and had been wondering what was happening. She was a sweet lady. I will miss her and I too know she is with her loved who passed before her. Bless you . xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI will miss her posts. What a lovely lady.
DeleteKathy- I am so sorry to hear this. I, like you, really connected with Mona and have several wonderful emails from her over the years. She had lots of sadness in her life but lots of happy times, too. I sure will miss her. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI miss her also. I treasure the letters she wrote to me.
DeleteSad to hear of your blog friend's passing. What a blessing she was in your life. I will be checking back in to follow your blog. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb! Welcome to my blog. Most of my posts are much happier than this one. Hope you will visit again.
DeleteVery sad news. For her to be such a light & blessing to everyone is such a testament to her life....my prayers.
ReplyDeleteShe was a special person.
DeleteI loved her, too. She was a real treasure.
ReplyDeleteYes, she was.
DeleteAre blogging friends are REAL.
ReplyDeleteAnd so is the grief.
Prayers for her family & friends and you!
Some blogs I read, enjoy the posts, comment and that's it. Others, like you, I connect with and write letters, send cards, gifts, etc. Mona was one of those. You are right, the grief is real. But so much more for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
DeleteI'm so very sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I've lost two blogging friends who were so dear to me. One I had met in person and the other lived in Spain. The void they leave in your life is real. Those of us who believe, though, know there is a better place and that we will all be reunited one day. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteVery sad indeed! My mother passed from that same awful disease. As much as we miss those who have gone before us, we wouldn't wish them to come back. God be near all who are missing her today!
ReplyDeleteThis was very sad. I remember Mona and her love for her family. A dear friend passed recently from this and so I know that Mona is in a better place in Glory.
ReplyDeleteSorry your friend Mona died but good memories of her thru letters she wrote you. I write letters occasionally too but many lately. I have a blogger I've not heard from in awhile as their house caught fire awhile back. Total loss but family got out safely. Hopefully she'll return. Take care and prayers for you in this sad time. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Mona; I'm sorry to read about her passing away from Pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic is a beast of a cancer, everyone is different but I understand some of what she must have gone through. That is what my beloved passed away from after a 20 month struggle of 'fighting the good fight' with this dreadful disease. May she and her family be at peace and all those who knew and loved her. God's Blessings, Jenny
