A GLIMPSE OF PHILLY

Welcome to another glimpse of Philly.  Here's the pictures I found for you this time.

Oh yes!  I used to love being outside on a summer night as a child watching all the lightening bugs.  Or as we said, "Lite-nin".  Ha, ha!  Because no one says firefly around here.

Isn't that the truth!  I've sat on the Schuylkill for many an hour.

    I have never been to Philly and enjoyed this post! What is a water ice??

      Most places call it Italian Ice. It's shaved ice with a syrup flavoring. It can be cherry (the most popular), mango (my favorite), lemon, lime, watermelon, etc.

    Mustard on my soft pretzel please, I love to hear all the various bungled pronunciations of "Schuylkill" by people who don't live there, and what on earth else WOULD you call a Light-nin' bug?

      Ha, ha! Sort of, but slightly different. The ice is of a different consistency.

      Out West, we don't have "lite-nin bugs" or even fireflies. Heard then are really cool at night.
