RUNNING ERRANDS

Yesterday I just had to rest.  I have been running so much that I am exhausted.  I'm glad I have a doctor's appointment next week because I have a feeling my thyroid medication needs tweaking again.  I am tired all the time.

On Monday I slept the entire day.  The only time I got up was when my friend Krystal called and asked if I wanted to go to a late lunch with her.  We went to East Coast Wings and had a great meal.  As usual!  After I dropped her off I went back to sleep and slept right through until the next morning.

Tuesday I was very late to Bible study.  The ladies were about to get up and leave as I walked in.  So we did just part of the lesson and will finish it next week.

I was glad I didn't have anything else I had to do that day.  So I decided since I had some energy in the afternoon I would cut the grass.  It was very high!  I moved the furniture all around and got the yard 3/4 of the way done before I ran out of weed whacker cord.  What I did looks nice.

Yesterday Joe had to go to the post office.  So I took him and then we headed to Home Depot to get more cord so I could finish the yard.  What we FINALLY found (hidden in a corner on the bottom shelf) was not only the cord, but it was on a new spool all wound and ready to just pop into the spot and go on.  YAY!  We got too spools.  They were only around $7.  I am so happy because I thought I would have to get the line, cut it, wind it on the spool, get it lined up with the holes, etc.  I have done that before and it's not fun.  This will be so easy.

We were both hungry, so we headed to the new Royal Farms which just opened two days ago.  We have been watching it be built for the past year or so.  Royal Farms is a convenience store chain based in Baltimore.  They are all over Maryland and Delaware and a few in Pennsylvania but this is the first one in Philadelphia.

I wish I had taken pictures, but I felt funny about it.  It was crowded.  And of course being brand new it was clean as could be.  They are known for their fried chicken so I got a 3 piece container that came with fries (they call them Western fries and they are HUGE) and a roll.  Joe got a double bacon cheeseburger that also came with fries.  My portion was so large I couldn't eat it all.  We also got a couple of Krispy Kreme donuts.  Since Krispy Kreme left Philadelphia a few years ago, I haven't seen them.  And Joe bought a bag of sugar cookies for Bible study.  They were wonderful and tasted like homemade.  They were a brand I had never heard of -- Otterbein's.  Apparently they are also from Baltimore.  They even have a little eating area in a corner. We were very happy and I have a feeling this is my new go-to store.  I just wish it had been open when I was still working.  I would have been there every lunch.

Here are a couple of pictures I found on Google.

This looks like Joe picking up his meal (but it's not).

Oh, yes, they also have a gas station with very reasonable prices and a car wash.  This is one happy girl.

So now I have to run.  The new cleaning lady is coming in about 15 minutes and I haven't even had breakfast.  Talk to you all later and have a good day.

Kathy

    1. Well most nights I get about 3 to 4 hours of sleep, so I guess it just caught up with me. I finished my lawn today and it's beautiful. You are right, so peaceful.

  2. You needed your rest that is for sure! You do more than most people so you need your meds to be just right. I never heard of Royal Farms. Of course, we haven't lived in Baltimore for quite a few years. We lived there around 1990. My husband was the administrator of Perry Hall Christian School and I was the fourth grade teacher. We loved the people at that church!

    1. That's interesting that you lived in Baltimore. I've been there several times. It's a beautiful city. Royal Farms is new to us too.

  3. Yes, it sounds as if you need a tweaking. Not fun to be tired all the time...too much to do! In spite of it all, Kathy, you remain active and busy. Good for you!

    1. It sure is not fun to be tired, you are right about that. I think if I could just get more than a couple of hours sleep at night I wouldn't be so tired during the day.

    1. I've heard from several people about all the rain you folks are getting. We have had lots of sunny days. Maybe the rain will move this way and leave you alone.

  6. glad you found a new place to eat. Food sounds yummy. Awhile back I came home a different way off the interstate and needed gas so stopped in there for gas and a refreshing potty stop in a clean place. Always fun to find nice places to go. I had already eaten so I don't remember getting anything. Almost bought a small Bible that they have on a Christian books rack. Feel better soon. I'm running errands tomorrow and a bit on Saturday. Take care!

    1. It's not really a place to eat, it's more a convenience store like 7-11 or In and Out. But it's a fun place for sure.

  8. We don't have a Royal Farms here. Wawa and Sheetz are everywhere....and Turkey Hill :) Because I must eat gluten free, I usually find little that I can eat at places like that :(
Hope your meds can get tweaked and your energy renewed. Take care!

    1. I've never heard of Sheetz. The only Royal Farms I know in this area is one on Rt. 309 right outside of Philly and this new one near me. Maybe it will get out to Lancaster County eventually. I think they will definitely give Wawa a run for their money.

  9. I have never heard of Royal Farms but it sounds a lot like our Kwik Trip which also sells a limited amount of groceries and potatoes and bananas are always really cheap. What fun to have found a place you both like that is reasonably priced.

Hope you two have a good weekend- xo Diana

    1. I have never heard of Kwik Trip but I think they must be similar. It's a convenience store so you can get milk, eggs, bread, cookies, the newspaper, candy, etc. and some hot food and sandwiches.

  10. Funny how one small, itby, thyroid can cause so much!
I know you work hard but remember to take time for yourself.
New cleaning lady? Did I miss something?

    1. I didn't know that the thyroid controls most of the organs in your body until mine started acting up. Or should I say acting down. And apparently it had been going on for about four or five years before they caught it. I emailed you about the cleaning lady.
