TODAY'S THE DAY

After a 3 month hiatus the Ladies Bible Study is back.  At the end of the year in November I am so worn out with teaching and trying to do things around the house.  I really need a break.  And with all the holiday things going on it just gets to be too much.  But by the time March comes around I am rested and ready to start teaching again.  Today is the day!

We are studying the book of Colossians this time.  I have been going through the epistles -- began with Romans (although I skipped I & II Corinthians), then went to Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians.  Colossians has so much in it about thankfulness and I am so looking forward to seeing what the other ladies see in it.

Because -- it's not just me sitting there spewing out what I need to say.  These ladies in the group teach me a lot too.  And that's the way it should be.

On Sunday I began teaching Sunday School too.  This is such an answer to prayer.  We have been praying for well over a year for children in our church and now there are three.  I have the two older ones and Carolyn has the one younger one.  This is a good deal because I really am not good with small children.

After study today Debbie and I are going to go to Shop Rite and do our food shopping.  Last month I bought for the entire month at one time and then just filled in with small things I needed as I went along (milk, bread, lunchmeat).  It worked out beautifully.  So I am doing the same thing today.  It takes longer, but saves on running back and forth every week so it works out in the long run.

Joe said that since we don't have any plans for the day, this Thursday is "Valentine's Day".  We will have a nice dinner and I will get my one red rose.  I told him we don't have to do this, but he wants to since he was just out of the hospital on the actual day.  This is one Valentine's Day I will not forget!

So that's the news for right now.  I have to get breakfast, get dressed and head for church.  I hope you all have a great day.

Until later...

Kathy

  7. I look forward to Bible study. I learn as much from the other ladies as I do from the lesson. Other viewpoints make me think & firm up my perspective.
    Thank you for teaching!

  8. It's really good to get back into the Spring Swing of things, isn't it? And to have a Valentine's Day ANY day you want---that's the way we live, and the little surprises and small unexpecteds are just the lagniappe that make life more wonderful and gracious and sweet. We were just mentioning as we walked into the restaurant in the full glow of Valentine's Day sunshine, of TWO quite different celebrations of the day since we moved up here---one was a Sunday afternoon party for about forty friends, on an iron-hard-cold day when my Sis had flown in for a visit. How we laughed and talked around the cozy fire as everybody gathered, coming in stomping their feet on the mat as they breezed in so cheerful and happy.

And another, perhaps twenty years past, when we drove home for HOURS in a blizzard from a Valentine's wedding up on Lake Erie---oh, my. All my memories of that are of from the back seat, as I "navigated" and prayed us home, and the snow flew at us like those fast pictures from Star Trek when they fly warp speed through the stars.

I'm so glad your Joe is recuperating so swiftly and so well---his Healing Dial is set up to Prayer Speed, and it shows. Enjoy your Day and your beautiful weather and your fellowship, Sweet Friend.
