This is the day that poor Punxsutawney Phil is pulled from his burrow to tell us if he sees his shadow. I always feel sorry for the poor little fellow.
Punxsy Phil did see his shadow since it was a bright sunny day today and so we are to have six more weeks of winter. I figured out years ago that it is six weeks until Spring so whether he sees the shadow or not we have six more weeks of winter.
Neither Joe nor I have been feeling too well this week. But today we felt better so we decided to go to East Coast Wings and Grill for lunch. We both needed to get out of the house. We haven't been anywhere since Sunday when we came home from church.
Joe got a burger and sweet potato fries. I got lemon pepper wings and homemade chips. Everything was good, as usual.
We came home and went back to bed. I am getting nothing done this week. And there's so much to do.
I have discovered a new youtube channel called "allthemed docs". It is a lot of BBC 4 documentaries and is so good. I find myself watching more of that than I do TV. And I am learning so much! Most of them are done by Dr. Lucy Worsley a historian from Hampton Court. If you like history, you should definitely check this out.
It's almost midnight and I have to get going. Until later...

I also feel sorry for Phil the groundhog. To be yanked out of your warm, cozy burrow...really rude.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you & Joe are not feeling well. Glad you both got out to eat. Prayers that you both feel better soon.
Thanks, Debbie! Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow.
DeleteI am so excited that Phil saw his shadow. Six more weeks of winter is good news up heah. It could be so much worse...like last year when we went straight feom winter to summer. Ha!
ReplyDeleteSorry that you folks are not feeling great. Rest!
I live in a lovely place where there isn't a lot of winter, but just enough. Hopefully it's six weeks until your weather gets warmer.
DeleteWe've had a mild winter so far but I know much of the country has had bad weather. Hope you feel good today. Love your hearts background! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane. You know I had to change out the wallpaper.
DeleteWe here in Florida don't worry about Phil and his shadow. LOL We do enjoy a lot of the British shows on Acorn TV so I will have to check out the app you mentioned. Happy February! Hope you two are feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteLucy Worsley had done tons of shows. I found a site on youtube that has 42 of them. I have enjoyed every one that I've watched.
DeleteSorry you aren't feeling well. Hope each day gets better!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for Spring.....I'm always ready!! Prefer more daylight, more color, more warmth. Ugh, trying to hang in
Blessings to you!
I'm with you, Doris. More light and color and warmth. Hang in there. It's not much longer.
DeleteI knew I could count on you to fill me in about Punxsutawney Phil! Hummmm, more winter.
ReplyDeleteGet well! Have a good weekend.
I love little Punxsy Phil but I always feel sorry for him. Poor little thing sleeping away and then pulled out into the sun and all the flashing cameras.
DeleteI am so glad you were feeling well enough to get out and get a bite to eat. That is when I know I am feeling better-when I want to drag myself out in the cold!!! lol
ReplyDeleteHope you both have a good weekend. xo Diana
Thanks, Diana. Sometimes I want to stay home and other times I just have to get out of the house.
