Here it is another Friday already. Where does the time go? Where do the weeks go? When I was a teenager someone told me that time goes faster as you get older. I thought they were nuts. But it does. It really does.
So the saga of the kitchen continues. The guy from Sears that came out the other night stayed for three hours! But he explained everything to us, gave credentials for the workers coming to do the job, and had lots of samples for us to choose from. In fact he had so many that it was hard to choose. But I finally decided to keep the oak finish on the cabinets (was thinking of changing to white) and picked out a gray running bond brick for the floor. It will take a week to finish the job since they are stripping everything back to the studs and starting fresh. Along with fixing all the broken drawers, I am getting the kind or drawers and doors that slowly close themselves and the pots and pans cabinet will have four pull out shelves so that I can reach the stuff in the back without taking everything in the front out every time. Nice. Well, it will be nice after living through a week of no fridge, stove or dishwasher and having to pack every single thing in the room up in boxes. *Sigh* I feel as if I am moving. I hate going through the renovation. I just like it when it's done.
For my Friday view this week I just have to show you these cute pictures of Snowy.
She likes to sleep on this one chair we have. But if you read the pillow behind her it says "If you want the best seat in the house, move the cat". I crack up every time I see this.
Until tomorrow....
Kathy

Kathy, with your kitchen tore up...makes me think of a friend of mine . This happened years ago...she married this fellow and she had told him what a good cook she was, when he got home from work, she had sold his stove...Oh I laugh about that story. She told me she gutted the kitchen and put in all new appliances ,plus cabinets. You and Joe will be eating sandwiches or going out for meals. Hey, maybe I need to re-do our kitchen LOL. Blessings for a great weekend, xo,Susie
ReplyDeleteSo funny about the cat and the chair. Isn't that the truth? A kitchen overhaul is a huge inconvenience but SOOO worth it when all is said and done- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteglad you are getting things straightened out for your new kitchen. Hope it all goes well and it's worth the wait. We had a cat that had marble looking eyes when I'd take his photo! Yes you have to move the cat if you want the right spot. At least it's warm! I need to start packing up my Precious Moments. I'm having the living room painted in May so I best get to it. Everything comes off the walls. Can't wait to get it done! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe colors sound interesting. Sounds like a great company, that they took that kind of time
ReplyDeletegoing over all the details with you. It'll be a big inconvenience for awhile but I would keep the end result
as a focus. Hopefully it will all be worth it!
Hugs!
Renovations are always a lot of work, even when you are not doing the work yourself...just the clearing out it a lot of work. Do you plan to eat out a lot?
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are so cute. How adorable that the pillow says that and there she lays!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your kitchen. I think you made a wise decision keeping the wood cabinets. I had white cabinets and painted them. They were IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean!!!
