She was so nice, sweet and you could tell she loved kids. Instead of our usual pre-school storytime by Miss Sheila, Ms. George read to the kids, had them draw pictures, and made a story up on the spot from the pictures they drew, using them as illustrations. Wow!
Then at the end she and Sheila had all the children stand up and do the Hokey Pokey (and turn themselves around). What a fun time!
I was so glad my friends from church, Juliette and Robyn, were able to bring their kids and come.
I had emailed them and told them about the program but didn't know if they would show up or not. The kids were a little confused because they see me at church, but weren't quite sure what I was doing at story time!
All in all, it was a great way to celebrate Book Week. Now to get ready for work today and then a four day weekend. I'm so looking forward to that.

I always have several books going at once. I jump from one to another and read books over more than once as I always miss something. :) Reading is something I could not live without...or would not want to. I have a library in my office and it is ever changing and I seldom get rid of a book.
ReplyDeleteI love to read! It's so interesting to 'be' somewhere or someone else as you read.
ReplyDeleteMs George sounds like a wonderful person. To finish off with Hokey Pokey....I would've
joined in! It's stuff like that that keeps you young! Enjoy!
How fun! Your library does such great programs for the children. It's great to have that type of activities in the community
ReplyDeleteHope you have a blessed Easter my friend!!!
