How is that possible? Didn't I just retire a couple of months ago? Is time speeding up? And why can't I remember what day it is?
All week I've been off. Are any of you like that? Today is Wednesday, right? I think. But I thought yesterday was Wednesday also. And last Friday I was sure it was Saturday. I kept saying I had such a short time to get the bulletins done for Sunday morning. I think this is what happens when you get senile. Ha, ha!
Well, I'm glad I have another day in the week because time is just flying by.
Yesterday I had just two people at Bible study again. And it was great. It seems that a smaller group has more interaction and ideas and comments seem to fly across the table. I just feel sorry for those who are missing out. But Genny had a doctor appointment and Donna has decided to drop out of the group. In just a couple of weeks though, Carolyn (the new pastor's wife) will be joining the group and I know she will be an asset to us. I'll be finishing up the book of Philippians soon (4 more lessons to go) and then for the few weeks before we quit for the winter I want to do the seven churches of Revelation. I think that will be an interesting study.
After the study Debbie and I went to Shop Rite and I did my week's worth of grocery shopping. I hardly ever eat beef, but decided to get a pot roast for dinner. It was expensive and we ate the whole thing. I am not the best cook so doing a roast is not something I do often. But it turned out OK. I made mashed potatoes and had some fresh corn that I also bought today. The corn was sweet and wonderful. We are getting into good corn season now.
I bought something from Etsy for the first time ever. I wanted a gold tassel to go with my silver one. So I went searching and found a beautiful one at The Southern Elephant.
Her things are so pretty. So if you are looking for jewelry, check her out. It wasn't very expensive either.
Well, since it's after 2 a.m. I had better go to bed. I have to get up to drive Joe to the VA Hospital tomorrow for another doctor's appointment. Then I want to attack my cleaning before I leave for evening Bible Study. See you all later. Hope you have a good day.
Kathy
Well, it's 3:00 am here and I think Louis Dean and I woke each other up! We o's see and turned for an hour and he got up and is in his music room while I decided to visit on my iPad.
ReplyDeleteI think retired people lose track of time since we have more flexible schedules. I have certain things I on each day of the week so that helps keep me on the right date.
Hope all goes well with Joe's appointment. Are you feeling better?
Well, Linda, I have Tuesday Ladies Study and Wednesday Evening Sunday and that usually keeps me on track, but not this week. Joe is just going for a follow up. Nothing serious. I will sit in the waiting room and read my book while I wait for him to get finished with his appointment. I seldom have a good uninterrupted half hour to just sit and read anymore. I'm still in pain, but feeling better.
DeleteIt was a good Bible study. I think our discussion could have lasted half the afternoon! Glad the beef turned out ok. I lose track of days too sometimes. It's easy to do. Though mine is more about how close an appointment is or is it time to put the flea meds on AGAIN? Stay pawsitive!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got something out of the study. I do enjoy our discussions and think we do better small than if we had 20 in the group. Some people are shy about speaking out in a crowd but don't mind if it's just two other people.
DeleteTime in its flight seems to take a lot of side-trips and layovers, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI get the most mixed up when Chris doesn't have a service call on a week day---having him here or in and out, or we just "take the day" and pretend its Saturday---that will make me think it IS about mid-afternoon, then comes Sunday, in order, and the week is a puzzle.
You look so relaxed and happy and pretty in that last picture, as if you could be lounging on that splendid pink chair, with all clocks and calendars banished for a bit.

Oh it is a puzzle when my schedule get's thrown off. Thanks for the compliment. I couldn't get a decent picture of myself that day so I laid back on the sofa and held the camera above me. Turned out pretty good.
DeleteI woke up thinking today was Thursday! lol Must be retirement! LOVE your new necklace and I love shopping on Etsy. I'll check out her shop. Enjoy your day...Wednesday! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYes, Wednesday! I'll keep telling myself that. LOL!
DeleteSometimes I am confused as these days go by so quickly too! You are not alone, Kathy ♥

I'm glad I'm not alone!
DeleteToday I told my husband to put the trash can out at the end of the driveway, I saw him wheel it out and then return with it, he said " What day is it, I said Thursday, nope just Wednesday."
ReplyDeleteAt least when I worked I knew what day it was....lol
Hope you are enjoying your retirement.

I've done that too, Jo. Yes, I am loving retirement even if I can't remember the day of the week!
DeleteI have trouble remembering what day it is too, but I am allowed because I am much older than you. :) I like your necklace. I may have to check out the Etsy.
ReplyDeleteYou are not THAT much older than me. Thanks, I thought this necklace was pretty. And I wear it quite a bit.
