Feel cooler now?  No, me neither.  It is another heat wave.  Going up to 101*F (38*C) tomorrow.  I love the heat.  I love summer.  But this is too hot for even me.

Joe and I didn't spend much time at church today.  We are both very tired.  We slept in until 10 a.m. and then got ready to go to Joe's doctor's appointment.

It was crowded on I-76 going to the hospital.  I was afraid we would be late (no fault of ours) but we made it with about 10 minutes to spare.

I had taken my book on Napoleon to read and hopefully finish.  I got done only one chapter.  It was too busy in the office to concentrate.  And this is a book you need to concentrate on to read.  When  I picked this book up I thought, "What a cute little book.  It's so tiny (only about 6" x 4") and thin.  I'll get it done in no time.  It has taken me almost 6 weeks.  It's not an easy read.  I even carry it in my purse and pull it out to read when I have a chance.

While I was waiting for Joe to come out of the doctor's office I got a phone call from one of our elders who wanted me to head over to the church to find some tax papers in the files.  So when Joe was finished, that's where we headed.

It took me awhile, but I found the papers.  Meanwhile Joe was talking to the guys fixing the house.  When I went back to tell him I was ready, they insisted I take a tour of the house.  It's looking beautiful!  Still a ways to go, but definitely getting there.

When we got home, we both ended up taking naps.  We are so tired.  We got up to eat dinner and are now ready to go back to sleep.  Oh my!  And tomorrow is a repeat of today.

Thought I would show you another piece of my jewelry that I wore the other day.  This is my "Bobby" whistle.  I got it back in the 1970s from a guy I was dating.  I always thought it was cute.  It really works, too.

And that's it for today.  Another busy day tomorrow.  Let's see how things go.

Until later...

  1. I am NOT a fan of this heat! The Christmas picture you posted gives me hope that cool is around the corner. This heat is making both Russ & I almost ill. Give me SNOW!!
I can understand about the book. Sometimes the smaller ones are deceptive. I like the whistle! Certainly different. Have a beautiful day!

    1. Well... cool is not JUST around the corner, but it's coming. Talking with some guys in the elevator at the hospital yesterday we were all wishing for fall -- cool but no snow. Us people with heart conditions can't shovel and it costs a lot to pay people to do it for you.

This book sure is deceptive. I'm enjoying it but got it because I thought I could just zoom through. Sheesh! Hope I can finish it today.

Thanks for visiting. I love hearing from you. I often reply to your comments, so feel free to check back.
