AND THE WEEK GOES ON

Does that seem possible?  I want summer!  At least there is 40 more days to soak up that sun, wear my light clothing and just enjoy the good weather.  Don't get me wrong, I love the fall.  I just want summer to last a little longer.

It has been crazy at work.  The Fishtown Branch and the Frankford Branch are still closed and we are getting all of their customers.  Those people are demanding and angry.  It's hard to all day try to keep everyone happy.  And the staff of these branches have been sent elsewhere so we don't even have any extra help.

I put the car in the garage yesterday only to find out that they don't know which sensor it is that isn't working and making the check engine light to go on.  I have to take it back in when they can keep it for a couple of days.  They have to take the gas tank out and see what is happening above it.  *sigh*  There's always something.

On top of that, my thyroid is still not acting right and I'm constantly tired.  I have another blood test scheduled in a couple of weeks and I think that the doctor will change the dosage of my medication yet again.  I am determined to get well.

I fell asleep when I came home from work yesterday and woke up at 12:30 a.m.  So much for dinner.  I had a couple of hot dogs and some left over chicken wings.  Great combination, huh?  But at least I'm not hungry and I could take my medicine.

So here I am at 3:00 a.m. getting tired again and going to go back to bed.  At least I don't go into work today until 11:30 so hopefully I can get a few more hours sleep and then get wash and dishes done before I go in.

Just remember...

But you know you are ALL on the nice list.

WHAT A WEEK!

It was back to work yesterday.  At least I woke up in time to get a couple of loads of wash done and hung on the line.  I made breakfast and got my lunch together.  Then I got ME together and headed off to work wondering what the day would bring.

I found out all too soon.  As I was driving I saw a light on the dashboard out of the corner of my eye.  It was the check engine light.  Oh boy!  I didn't know what to do so I called Joe on the car phone.  I love that no hands, voice activated phone.  He said to come back home.  So I called work, turned around and came back.  I called my mechanic and he asked if it was blinking or steady.  I told him steady.  He said that was nothing to worry about, it was one of the sensors and if it didn't go off in a couple of days to bring it in.  He said that 90% of the time it is the gas cap and I had gotten gas in Jersey last week where they pump it and I don't.  So I took off the gas cap and put it back on but the light is still lit.  I made an appointment to take it in on Wednesday.  Oh, yes, I finally got the air conditioning working!  It's wonderful.  Now this.  This car is going to bankrupt me!

I got to work 1 1/2 hours late to find out that the Fishtown Branch is going to be closed for the rest of this week.  So I had my own people  (Angela, Doug and Bob) along with Fishtown's people (Dianne, Cindy and Frank).  Can I hang them from the ceiling?  Sheila was there too and I guess it's a good thing that Boss is on vacation this week so she has a desk to sit at.  There weren't even enough chairs for everyone in the back room.  The good news was I wasn't on the front desk at all yesterday.  The bad news was I didn't have much to do.  When the delivery came Angela and I jumped on it just to have something to do.

Having so many people means that all the shelving is done, things are straightened up, the newspapers and magazines are up to date, customers are taken care of quickly.  So there are some advantages.

Today Diane comes back from her vacation.  Dianne and Sheila will go to Fishtown for a couple hours to clean some things up, but will be in later.  Bob will be there and Doug took off.  So not too bad.

I'm heading off to Bible study now.  We are in Galatians 1:1-10 today.  All about how you can't work your way into heaven.  It's all God's grace.  I'm really excited about teaching this book.  I think it's going to be really good.

Before I go, here's a clip of the Hope Philly Praise Band from Sunday.  Enjoy.

HOORAY IT'S SATURDAY

Yes I am always happy for my days off from work when I can be ME.  I slept in a little bit today and woke up feeling pretty good.  I had a large list of things to do, but didn't get much done.  But I'll show you what I did do today.

I am still feeding the strays that are living in the yard behind me.  It's Momma, Baby and Shy.  I call them that because it is a momma cat and her two babies.  One is very skittish and runs.  The other kitten climbs up the steps to my back door and cries for me to feed him/her.  The momma now sits in the yard and hisses at me but doesn't run.  I don't try to pet them or pick them up.  I just talk to them while I put out the food and then leave.  I am hoping they get used to me enough that I can find them homes or shelter before the cold weather comes.  Here's the babies eating this morning.

After I had breakfast I went to the pharmacy for Joe and then headed for the farm.  I want to eat more veggies and fruit and I know I'll do it if I have fresh from the farm.  And everything is so good this time of year.

I went late and didn't expect so much good stuff to still be there.  Here's what I got today.

I got a sugar cube melon.  I don't know what it is, but it sure smells good.  Joe and I are adventurous in our veggie eating.  I also got three varicolored bell peppers which I will cut up and freeze for use in recipes later.  I got three Yukon gold potatoes, two ears of corn, two Jersey tomatoes and a baguette.

I even got a nap in this afternoon.  It felt so good to just be able to sleep when I got overly tired.  At work I just have to push on through.

For dinner tonight I made baked salmon, roasted Brussels sprouts, sliced tomatoes and a couple of slices of the baguette.  It was wonderful.  Joe made the iced tea and even did the dishes after dinner.  What a guy!  I think I'll keep him.

Now I have a load of laundry in which I will hang on the line before I go to bed.   Sunday morning comes quickly.  Church just isn't the same without Pastor Justin, but we are continuing on because the church is about Christ, not the pastor.

Oh, by the way, I tried to answer everyone's comments from my last post.  I hope you will go back and read them.

Good night, everyone.  See you all tomorrow.
