FLOWERS

I've been so hungry for a taste of springtime.  So when I went to the supermarket this week I splurged on a bouquet of Gerbera Daisies.

They are one of my favorite flowers because they are so colorful.  I got five flowers, all different colors.

Yellow

Red

Orange

White

Pink
They are just gorgeous.  I look at them all day and enjoy their beauty.  Pretty soon I will be able to go into my yard and cut some flowers to bring in whenever I want.  I'm so looking forward to that.

THE CARDINAL

All winter I've been wanting to feed the birds, but couldn't get to the bird feeder because it was across the yard and the snow was too deep.  Last week I finally took it down and moved it closer to the house.  I'm so glad I did because I am able to sit at the table eating my breakfast and watch all the birds come.  Mostly it is sparrows, starlings and pigeons I see.  But on Friday I had a visit from a cardinal!

It is very rare to see a cardinal in these parts and I was so thrilled it came to visit.

It hopped and flew all over the place.

It was alone.  I looked for another cardinal somewhere nearby, but saw none.

It went away for awhile, then came back and started eating from the feeder.

He was there for quite awhile, and then flew away.  But not before posing for me.

I haven't seen him since, but I hope he comes back with some others.

I GIVE UP

Google image

It finally caught up with me.  First Sheila had it.  Then Jerry.  Then Diane.  Then Bob.  Now me.  And in my generosity I passed it on to Joe.  It's the dreaded...

WINTER COLD!!!

Coughing.   Choking.  Sneezing.  Stuffy nose.  No voice.  Can't breathe.  Fever.  And generally feeling...

JUST MISERABLE.

So that is where I have been for the past few days.  I am about three days ahead of Joe in catching it and then the recovery process.  It has not been fun.  Both of us had antibiotics and cough medicine.  But Joe's was worse and I ended up taking him to the hospital.  I left him there while I went to work.  When he was finished seeing the doctor, he called me and I took my lunch break, went back and picked him up.

I'm doing better, Joe not so much.  Probably in a few days we will both be well.  Until then, our home is full of coughing, sneezing and the blowing of noses.
