Well, friends, I am blogging because this is the only chance I get to do it. Sad life I live (shaking my head here).
Had a really good day at church yesterday. My church is one of the host venues for the Harvest America crusade. This is a nationwide simulcast from Pastor Greg Laurie in Riverside, CA. Very exciting. And I've been appointed Event Coordinator for my church. Unexpectedly Pastor Justin asked me to present the event to the church. Gulp. I am not great at public speaking. But I did OK and I think people are starting to catch the vision. There will be more about this as time goes by. But for those of you who pray, please pray for this crusade. It is a lot of work, but great benefits to bring people into God's kingdom.
After church Joe and I went to lunch with Bud and Karen. We went to Country Club Diner, one of our favorite places. I ended up having breakfast for lunch -- scrambled eggs, sausage, and homefries with onions. So good.
Joe's not feeling too well. He has a sore throat and a slight fever. He went to the doctor today and got some antibiotics. Hopefully that will knock it out of him. It turns out he has a sinus and throat infection. Poor guy. He's feeling kind of miserable.
Well, another week of work has started. Week 4 of the Summer Reading Program. This week they get temporary tattoos and a coupon for free water ice from Rita's. We ran out of chips, but another 16 boxes will be delivered this week. The movie for Movie Monday today was Judy Moody and the Bummer Summer. I think the girls were more interested in it than the boys.
I have been taking some beautiful pictures of the sunsets. They are fantastic. I think I'm going to have to start making a scrapbook of just my cloud pictures because these are outstanding also. I haven't uploaded the pictures yet, but I promise you will see them sometime this week.
I'm going to end this now and get some sleep. So much to do, so little time and energy. So tired all the time. It's only 20 days to my Sister's Week vacation. If you don't know about Sister's Week, see my entries from last July. The first day is here and it goes on from there. Every year my sister and I take a vacation week together. It's lots of fun. I am looking forward to it to be able to get some rest.

THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT
I did it. I went over to Mane Connection today and got my hair cut. The girl who cut my hair was named Jamie. She was about 20 years old, very cute and very sweet. She kept telling me I looked cute. Come on, I'm 58 years old. I look good for my age, but I'm not cute.
I told her what I wanted and let her go. She did a good job, but now that I see it, I think it is a little shorter than I wanted. But it does feel so good being off of my neck. And it's really easy to take care of.
Here are my "before" pictures:
The back view is a little blurry because Joe took it and his hands were shaking very badly today, but you get the idea.
Now here are the after pictures:
This is the shortest I have ever had my hair. It feels wonderful, but I think I want it a little longer -- a little different. Well, we'll see how I feel when it grows out a little bit.
Joe and I did a lot of running today. We went to Walmart and Target and had lunch at Chick-fil-A. We got a lot done so it was a productive day. I said I wasn't going to leave the house because it went up to 103* today with a heat index of 115*.
While we were out Joe lost his phone. We have no idea where it fell from his pocket. So we went to Target a second time, bought him a new phone, and he was able to cancel service on the previous phone and switch over his number and minutes to the new one.
It started to thunder and lightning and the wind picked up while we were in Target the second time. I thought we would have a bad storm, but got only a few sprinkles. We really need some rain to break this heat wave. And my poor yard is in bad shape. Especially my herbs. They are all withered up.
Tonight's sunset was extraordinarily beautiful I took lots of pictures. Here's a couple before I say goodnight.
I'm really tired so it's bed for me folks.

FRIDAY VIEWS
Another Friday has come and (almost) gone. How can time fly by so quickly? It just seems to go faster every week.
This has been quite a week at work. Yesterday was horrendous! So many people came in and EVERYONE had a problem. And strange, strange problems. Most days we have 15 phone calls. Yesterday 32. Today... almost no one came in. Almost no phone calls. Go figure.
Home, well, the house is a MESS. But who has the energy to clean after working all day at work. I am keeping up with the dishes, the bathroom and the wash so that is something. Tomorrow I plan on getting up early and getting a lot done before noon when it will get really hot. We are supposed to go up to 103* here with a heat factor of 115*. I am NOT looking forward to that.
The only place I am going tomorrow is to get my hair cut. I will take before and after pictures to show you. I have let my hair get really long. I like it, but in this heat it is just too much. I go to a place in the neighborhood called "Mane Connection". I am having a new hairdresser tomorrow, so I'm not really sure what to expect. But it is a good place, so I'm confident it will be fine. I will be glad to get rid of my "blanket" of hair laying on my neck.
I have a strange Friday View for you this week. Now you will know how my mind really works. I had two rubber bands laying on my desk. Somehow they reminded me of a foot (or paw) and a shoe. Yes, I know I'm weird. But see what you think.
Strange isn't it. If you see the men in white coats, you know they are coming for me.
