GROCERY HAUL

Hello, friends!  Thank you so much for all of your good wishes and prayers.  I am feeling much better.  I don't know if I ate something that didn't agree with me or if I had a stomach virus but it wasn't good.  I am so glad I am over it.

Today I am on my way to get a COVID test.  I have to have one before my procedure on Friday.  I am not looking forward to either one of them.  I don't know where this place is that I have to go to so I am taking Joe with me to be my navigator.

On Saturday I put in a grocery order for Shoprite and every pickup space for Saturday and Sunday was taken.  So I put in for late Monday morning.  At least I didn't have to wait too long for them to bring out the order.  Last time I waited for 30 minutes.  I prefer to go into the store and pick my own meat and veggies, but you know how that is these days.  Safer to have them do it for you.

I didn't need too much, but here's what I got.

Frozen french fries and flounder fillets.  Fish and chips for dinner tonight.

I had quart sized freezer bags but was all out of the gallon ones.

When I made the snack mix I saw I was almost out of dill weed so I got some of that.  I don't use it often but I want it when I need it.  I also got some grape tomatoes to make up some salads.  The one lemon is for a recipe I want to make.

I was down to one potato so I needed more.  I like the russets because I can use them so many ways.

And finally some margarine and a container of cocoa.  I have been craving hot chocolate and those mixes just don't do it for me.  Too watery.  I think I will make some brownies for church too.

I also got two cases of water which I left in the car.  They are so heavy to carry so I bring them in a few bottles at a time as we need them.

That's it for now.  I have so many ideas for posts so you will see me a lot.  (I hope!)

Have a wonderful day and I will see you soon.

Kathy

  1. I'm glad you're feeling better now. I ran out of potatoes too. Even though I like the gold potatoes that were left here after thanksgiving I decided to get russet which normal. Young lady bought them to make a delicious soup while she was here for nearly a week.

  2. Happy to read you are feeling better, I hope the COVID test isn't too unpleasant.
I've yet to use the grocery store ordering online and pick-up, but my daughter used it yesterday, and was saying how efficient it was, and so much better than taking another risk shopping.
Fifteen bean soup-making for me today :)

  3. I know the cocoa craving. I do use Swiss Miss packets but only fill 3/4 full & top off with milk. I've been using the dark chocolate flavor lately. Have no idea why...A real treat I found are individual packets of Land O Lakes raspberry/chocolate. It's like a desert in a mug! Usually only out around Christmas. Glad to hear you're better!

  4. Hi Kathy. Hope your Covid test is negative and hope your procedure goes well. I get my first Covid vaccine on Friday and I am glad of that. The second one will be in mid-February. Glad you were able to order your groceries and then just pick them up. It's always better to take precautions, I think. I am also glad you are feeling better and will look forward to your coming posts.

  5. I'm happy you're feeling better. Good luck with all the medical stuff this week. I've never used the online ordering but my son does all the time and loves it. I just try and get in and out as quickly as possible! The store employees that fill those orders are always right in the middle of the aisles. I try not to get too annoyed..I may use them one day 🙂!

  7. So happy to read that you are feeling better. I've not been inside a store for months. Curbside it is. But yes, I'd rather choose my items myself. It's usually not a problem although today the 1 bunch of bananas was about 4 or 5 really large ones, ugh. I wouldn't have chosen that. But this too will pass ♥
    Take care, my friend!

  8. It’s no fun being sick that’s for sure and a stomach virus is the worst, but glad you are over it, Kathy. We have been doing our own grocery shopping, but know many others who are doing like you. Hope the test is negative and that your procedure goes well.
