THIS, THAT AND A GIVEAWAY

Hello, friends.  How is your weekend going?  We had a nice Saturday.

All week I have been wanting to clean the bathroom.  I have done little things, but nothing of any significance.  So today I began and really got some things done.  First I got the sink and faucets shining.  I read this week that using window cleaner really makes a difference and it does.  I am remembering this trick.

Then I decided to attack the chest of drawers we have in the bathroom.  The top is a mess because it is right inside the door and it seems everything gets dumped there.  I am not finished by a long shot, but I did quite a bit of gathering band-aids into one box, throwing things away, and finding lost earrings.  It's beginning to look good.  Or at least better.

It is amazing that we put things off, dreading it, and then when we actually do the job it isn't as bad as we thought and doesn't take as much time as we anticipated.  You would think that I had learned that by this time.

This afternoon I drove Joe to the bakery.  He had ordered a cake for church tomorrow to celebrate our Pastor's birthday on Monday.  I didn't go in with him and the box was tied up when he came out so I haven't seen it yet.  But I will try to get a picture of it tomorrow before it is cut.  Pastor is going to be so surprised.

On the way home we stopped at Rite Aid.  He wanted to get a birthday card for the congregation to sign and I wanted to get a couple of Halloween cards for our great-grands.  I found the perfect little cards.  I have Halloween coloring books that I am going to mail to them with the cards.  The only thing I couldn't find was mailing envelopes.  I will try to find them at the post office on Monday.

When we were checking out, Joe spotted a display of cloth face masks, so we each got one.  I tried mine on and think it is easier to breathe with than the paper ones I have to wear in the hospital.  Joe's is a camouflaged one.

Mine is pink, blue and white with the colors fading into each other like a sunset.  So pretty.

Yes, I am wearing a snowman sweatshirt.  The shirt is warm and the weather is cold outside.  A few days ago it was almost 80*F and now it's in the 30s and 40s.  I even have the stove in the living room running to keep things warm.

Yesterday I made some sugar cookies with pumpkins on them.  They turned out so cute.  Yes, I used the ready to bake cookie dough but they are delicious.

Well, let me tell you about my giveaway.  I began this blog 10 years ago this month.  October 28th to be exact.  And I think that is worthy of a little gift for my readers to thank you for making this a popular site.  So I am putting together a fall package for you.  I'm not exactly sure of what will be in it, but I promise you it will be at least three things that you will like.  To enter, please leave a comment saying you would like to be included in the giveaway.  If you comment and don't say you want to be entered, I will take that as a regular comment and not enter you.  I always hate when I want to comment on someone's blog but can't because I don't want to be entered in a drawing so I will not do that to you!  I will draw a name on the exact 10 year anniversary of the blog -- October 28th.  Good luck, everyone!

And now I must get to bed so that I can get up in the morning.  Have a good night!

Until later...
Kathy

  5. I love hearing about your daily life in the big city! We live out in the "boonies" as they say, no town, no city. We are surrounded by rolling pastures and flat Kansas corn fields. I would love to be entered into your drawing. Keep telling us about life in the big city!

  13. Nice masks you have. I enjoy wearing my face sheild better than a mask. I do wear it at dr visits and physical therapy. I am done with all that stuff...hopefully it will end soon. I do want to be entered into your giveaway blog prize. I enjoy reading your posts over the years. The evenings have gotten colder and mornings as well. It's that time of year. We had a good weekend, thankfully! Take care my friend. x------x

  15. The weather changes often this time of year, doesn't it? I am kind of ready for the cooler temps to stay, but there are others in my family who would like for the 70s and 80s to linger a little longer. We're all different!

Congratulations on your 10 year blogiversary! I had to run and check to see how long I have been blogging (I lose track of the time) and was surprised to see that I started over eleven years ago. Time flies, doesn't it?

I would love to be entered in your celebration giveaway!

  16. It is so true about putting things off, dreading the getting started, then finding out it wasn't so bad doing it after all!!! We humans ☺
Love your masks! I bought a box of 50 disposable ones from Amazon and I don't like them at all. They are so stiff. Got a pk of 10 at the pharmacy that I liked so I thought they would be the same, not.
Yes, you can enter me in your giveaway, thanks!
