GOOD NEWS

Hello, friends.  Hope you are having a great Tuesday.  Yesterday we had weather around 80*F. (26*C.) but it seems like that was the last hurrah for summer.  The temperatures are getting cooler and by this time next week it is predicted to be 20 degrees colder.  I guess it's time to take the air conditioner out of the window and get ready for the fall.

I got a call from my doctor today with the results of my biopsy.  Everything was clear -- no cancer.  I have to have another ultrasound in 6 months to make sure, but then that is it.  God is good!

This afternoon Joe and I went grocery shopping.  It is so much easier and faster to go every week or two instead of once a month.  We really needed water and a few other things.  But that is it for September.  One of the things I got was a mum.  It was on sale for $2.67.  I have been wanting to get some mums for the yard.  I will look next time I go and see if I can get another one.  The flowers look like this.

Do you know there are hundreds of varieties of mums?  And they are each given a woman's name.  This is Marguerite.  I am excited to plant it tomorrow.

I also got my copy of Beverly Lewis' new book "The Stone Wall."  It just came out on the 9th.  I preordered it from Amazon and they shipped it, but lost it.  I was just going to ask for my money back when it showed up yesterday.  Now I want to start reading it.

But...  it's Bible Study this morning.  I am so glad to be teaching again.  Joe bought us a box of apple cider donuts for a treat.  Yum.  We are beginning the first chapter of Titus.  Last week we did an introduction including a map.  I always like to put a map in the introduction for my students.  It helps to put things in perspective as to where the book is being written to.  We got as far as the first verse last week before it was time to end.  I am not rushing the book.  When we are finished, we are finished.  We usually take the winter months off because there is so much to do for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  And then the cold weather comes and no one wants to go out in that.  Ice is nasty.

There is so much coming up this week.  Something every day.  At least I will not be bored!

See you soon.

Kathy

  1. Great news about the biopsy! Hope you did a happy dance.
It's funny how we are all either shifting into a lifestyle that works for us or we are using all our energy protesting how it isn't like it was.
I have most of my groceries delivered, so I order weekly. When I had to do it myself, it was twice a month or even monthly.
    Take care...

  2. Yay! So happy for the good report from your doctor! Love the pretty flowers! I thought they were daisies which are my favorite. They were a good buy. I'm with you on having a new book. You can't WAIT to start it! Especially if it's one yu've been waiting for.you are right about including the map. It does help to see how close (or far) the cities are. It's also interesting to realize that some were bustling ports!Thank you for such info. Looking forward to today's study.

  6. Fantastic! And so good that she did not keep you waiting long for the results. I like her. ☺️ What a relief! Yes, once a month shopping trips are very difficult for a person. Much easier to make a few trips. I like Marguerite. She's pretty; now I must check my three small mums. I didn't know what color they were when I purchased them. Seems as if it might be rust or red.

It will be good to finish up the yard work when it is cooler. I have been doing more in the yard for just that reason.

  10. Sooo happy for the good report from your doctor!! Love the mum. I've not purchased any yet but soon hopefully! It's almost chilly here today...only about 66. A sweater feels good but my toes are still not in enclosed shoes...don't like shoes and I wait till I can't stand the chill any longer ☺
Hope you are having a good afternoon!

  11. I'm very happy for your good health report! That takes a lot off your mind I'm sure. Jack and I go grocery shopping every Saturday. We sit and make a menu for the week and then write a list and off we go. I very rarely have to go to the store during the week. This was really helpful when I was working because of my surgery call schedule on top of my regular 5 days a week. We stock up if there's a sale and that helps too. I haven't bought any mums yet but I'm getting ready to clear out my summer flowers that have died...like my petunias..and grab some mums for new color. I love the one you have..very pretty! Take care!

  12. Hi Kathy, That is truly wonderful news about the biopsy. Thank God!! That mum is beautiful. I might get a mum or two for my back garden. I like them too. Sounds like you have a busy, but good week planned. I have read quite a few Beverly Lewis books and really enjoyed them. It is always exciting to get a new book that you really want! Those apple cider donuts sound really good, so enjoy your Bible study tomorrow. If I lived in Philly, I would come! See you again soon!

  14. I am glad you don't have cancer. Thank you Lord. May you continue to stay that way. I did a bit of shopping Tues. Phil is getting items at Costco that's on sale which we usually do. Hopefully the speakers for his computer will be available since his old ones quit working. These are close to $100 but it would be fun to watch videos with him and actually hear it, instead of just the video for me. I am reading a book now and then. still into the bible and devotions. Have a good week!
