I'M IN A SLUMP

Hello, friends!  I am in a real slump.  Not just with my blog but with life in general.  All I want to do is sleep.  I'm really tired.  Sometimes life just gets to you.

One good thing is I now have my medicare card.  Now I can make an appointment with my doctor and see if my thyroid levels are off or something else that is making me so tired all the time.  I had gotten my medicare card in November and promptly lost it.  After searching for it for two months I decided to just go online and order a new one.  I was told it could take up to 30 days to get one and it showed up in 8 days.  This is one happy girl.

I got some of my Christmas decorations down.  The stairway looks bare without them.

I always put my cards on the stairway.

My little tinsel tree on the stove.

We found this tinsel chain at Rite Aid.  It reminded me of the chains we made of construction paper as kids to put on the tree.  I'm sure that's what they were thinking of when they manufactured this.  I just hung it on the banister.  I was going to put lights through it but it didn't work.  Well, I tried.

I'm working on getting more done tonight.

I ordered dinner from Dominoes tonight.  I now have enough points that the next pizza is free.  We order once a month and it takes six months for us to get enough points to get a free one.

This was our 8:00 a.m. weather picture yesterday.  It is the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and it is so sunny.  It might fool you into thinking it is warm.  It's not.  It's in the 30s but feels like the teens.  It's frigid.  And we are to have snow tonight and tomorrow.  (I used to work on the Parkway just a block from where this picture was taken.)

I began my new 2019 temperature blanket.  It takes me about 10 -15 minutes to knit the one row a day and that's all I do.  My hand is getting better!  Finally.  I'm so thankful about that.  Here is a picture of the first 10 days of 2019.  The red is temperatures in the 60s, the purple the 50s, the light blue the 40s and the dark blue the 30s.  There's going to be a lot more dark blue in this blanket.

Dinner is here so I'll end for today.  Hopefully my life will get more interesting and I'll have something to blog this coming week.  Until later...

Kathy

  1. Kathy, I was really lacking in energy last year and began doing a lot of research. Decided to try 16/8 intermittent fasting for its many health benefits. Started it last February. Wonderful! I will do it for the rest of my life! You can read my post about it here: https://www.delightfulrepast.com/2018/04/intermittent-fasting-168-its-not-just.html I'm sure it would help you. And it costs nothing. No books, programs, equipment, special foods or anything to buy.

    1. Jean, thanks for your input. I read your article and I already do all of this. There are medications I take for my heart that make me really tired. Most days I push through, but lately I just am not. Your ideas make a lot of sense though.

  2. I can relate to your being in a slump, that is me this past ten days. Sleeping, reading and watching TV has been a full day for me. I hope you figure out what is causing your slump.

  3. I remember making those paper chains! What a nostalgia moment...Glad you have your card & can check out your symptoms. While some of your meds could contribute to your tiredness, there is also a post-holiday 'lag'.all the hype/rush of the season can lead to a let-down feeling post-holiday.(I read that somewhere). Be patient with yourself.Watch the snow fall & be happy you're inside!

  5. I get like that a lot, tired and not wanting to do much of anything. I just figured it was the change in seasons. I'll be interested in hearing what you find out. I just love those tinsel chains. And yes, I do remember making those paper chains when I was very young. Your new temperature blanket is looking quite pretty. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

  7. I go to sign up for Medicare this week. Glad it’s possible to order a replacement online. What did we do before such a convenience?!!
Hope it warms up a little....I’m not a fan of cold. I use Young Living supplements and EO’s. It’s made a huge difference for me.....but the winter season is one I do need to push through with more effort.
    God bless your day!
