BLOGMAS DAY 6 -- THE SUPER MOON

Hello and welcome to Blogmas 2017!  Did you see the Super Moon on Sunday night?  I had forgotten all about it until a friend from church called me and told me to go outside.  I grabbed my camera but I really didn't get any good pictures of it.

It just looks like any other moon.  I didn't even get any definition on it.  I'm so disappointed.

I guess I should have gotten my tripod out and set up right but it was cold!  OK, I guess I'm not really a photographer or the cold wouldn't deter me.

I tried to take a picture with some background so you could see just how large it was.  But that didn't turn out so good either.

I guess these pictures will keep me humble.  Did you see the moon?  Take any pictures?  I'd love to know.

Kathy

  1. Kathy, You look so pretty in this picture. The super moon made more of an impact as it came first came up. But I never have the right camera lens to get good pictures. I have been using my phone for picture taking so much. Don't forget there will be two more super moons on January the 1st and 31st of 2018...NASA was calling this a super moon trilogy. Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, Susie

  2. Even though it's a bit blurry, the photo with the houses & cars at least shows the proportion. And it was cold! I give you credit for trying. For what it's worth,I can't get 'the shot' either. I leave it to others & just appreciate what I see.

  3. We didn't see it. Forgot and we had family here so that took priority :) I'm about ready to purchase a camera. Getting tired of not so good cellphone pics!
    Have a great Friday!

  5. I did. I’m not sharing. I heard that the best shots of the super moon were at its rising and setting. I have seen a super moon rising above a road that I have never forgotten. My daughter said at the time, “That’s a once in a lifetime shot.”

  6. At least you got out and tried. I did not. I thought about it, but then I forgot. I will definitely have to make more of an effort in the new year to start taking more photos with my camera. I just have to nudge this cranky old body to put on a jacket and get outside. hahaha. That bottom picture you shared is gorgeous. I would love to be near the ocean so that I could get shots like this all the time. Ahhhhh, dream, dream, dream. You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.

I did the very same thing as you. I had to be reminded and I ran out with my camera. I wasn't successful as you with my camera.

  10. We ran outside to look at it. It seemed brighter than normal. It was very cold out there so we didn't stay out but a few seconds just to say that we saw it. I really like the picture of you at the top of your post. Very pretty!
