A BUSY DAY

Some weeks you just feel that way.  After having a fairly relaxing Monday today made up for it.  I'm so thankful the rest of the week is slow and I actually have three days in a row where I don't have anyplace to go.  Hopefully those days will be rain free so that I can finally get the grass cut and the patio cleaned up.  And the plants planted.  And the rosebushes pruned.  And the weeds pulled. Well, you get the idea.

Yesterday Jenn my cleaning lady came.   I told her she is a blessing from God.  In four hours she had about a third of my dining room cleaned out.  I have so much recycling and trash to put out.  Once things are straightened and organized I can keep it that way.  But getting it organized is my problem.  She even offered to help me paint the downstairs.  What a gem!  While she worked on that, I was picking up the living room.  We talked a little, but basically just happily coexisted with our projects.  For the first time in a long time I have hope that things will get better.

Today began with Bible Study.  We finished up chapter 3 of Colossians.  Only two more lessons and then we are finished.  I'm going to do Philemon next and then I want to take a break from the epistles and do a study in the book of Ruth.

After Bible Study Debbie and I dropped off some things at Salvation Army and then headed over to the library.  I am donating books from the church library that they are getting rid of.  The public library is very happy to get them.  And I am happy to see my friends each week.

Lastly we went food shopping at Shop Rite.  I had a short list to begin with, but it got longer as I went along.  The "Meal of the Week" was turkey taco burgers.  It looked and sounded good so we will see.  On Tuesdays I get my Senior Discount so that was good too.  In all with discount and coupons I saved over $32!  Here's my haul for the next two weeks.

I left at 9:00 this morning and didn't get home until 3:00 this afternoon.  It was a long day.

For dinner tonight I had a ham steak, mashed sweet potatoes and sauteed Brussels sprouts.  It was so good!

Tomorrow morning I am going to (finally) get my hair cut.  I am looking forward to seeing Deb so much.  No one cuts my hair as well as she does.  It is getting long, my bangs are falling in my eyes and I am so wanting to have it looking good again.  Here's what I look like today.  I just pushed my bangs out of my eyes.  I think that may be why I've had headaches lately.

I will show you the new cut tomorrow.

And now I will get off of here so that I can watch "America's Got Talent."  I got hooked on it for the first time last summer and I'm so glad to be able to watch it again this year.

Until later...

Kathy

  1. Are you going short?? I did and I love it!
Good for you in getting a cleaning lady. I helped Amber clean house before the quads birthday party and said I could probably make a living at cleaning houses. She said I would be exhausted because I clean TOO good!!

    1. I got my hair cut chin length. I don't like it too short. It doesn't look good with the shape of my face. I tried for a year to clean up the house and just couldn't do it. Getting organized is the key and Jenn is a great organizer.

  3. Isn't it wonderful to have someone come alongside and help? I feel as if I need that, too. Still, I have managed to clear the front room where all "the debris" had landed. It felt like going over a mountain in 20th gear. It needs painting, too, but I can not even think of it now. Happy haircut! 💇🏻

    1. It does feel wonderful to have someone help me. She does things I just can't do with my physical limitations. Good for you getting the front room cleaned out! That is a major achievement.

  6. I love getting my hair cut....next Tuesday for me! When we moved three years ago, it forced me to deal with 30+ years of stuff because I could not bring it with us. Was incredibly hard but so good to have it deal with. Bless you for hiring a cleaner and organizer....she sounds amazing!
