I'VE BEEN SO BUSY!

Or at least it has been this week.  We had a mini heatwave here.  For three days it was above 90* (32*C.)... 91*on Wednesday and then 93* the next two days.  Saturday it was only 76* (24*C.) so it felt cold in comparison.  We don't have our air conditioner set up yet so you know those fans were going.  At least the humidity wasn't too bad.

I know I've been missing in action lately but I have just not had the time for blogging.  Or even vlogging although I did try at one point.  But all I got was 30 seconds of me saying "Hi" so I gave it up as a lost cause.  I will show you what I've been up to though.

Tuesday I had my Ladies Bible Study in the morning.  We are still in the book of Colossians.  I had studied and read and studied some more.  I wrote out my lesson and ended up not even getting to bed on Monday night because I was typing it up and I fell asleep sitting up with my hands on the keys of the computer.  When I woke up some hours later, I finished it and printed it out.  Then I got myself together to go to Bible Study.  It turned out to be a really good lesson.  But you know I ended up sleeping the entire afternoon.

So as a result I did not get out to take care of my garden as I planned to do.  I wanted to do it before it got too hot.  The best laid plans and all...

But it is looking nice and I took some pictures for you.

The patio and the yard.  I really have to get out there and clean up.

My chives are flowering.  I always think they are so pretty.  I've been told I can eat chive flowers but I never have.

My irises are blooming.

The pink roses.

The red roses.

This is Joe's favorite.  It's sort of peachy.

I am looking forward to getting this all cleaned up and being able to spend some time in the yard.

Wednesday began our heat wave and let me tell you I was HOT.  I seldom am bothered by the heat, but this was bad.  When it came to dinner, I told Joe I just couldn't do it.  So we went to Hibachi Grill for dinner.  Joe wanted American food so he had roast pork, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.  But I wanted Asian food so I had sushi, sweet and sour chicken, chicken wings, chicken on a stick and spring rolls.  That's why we like this place.  You can get anything you want.  They even have spaghetti and lasagna there.  And then there's the desserts.  And the fruit!  And ice cream!

Thursday and Friday we spent with Joe's doctors at the VA Hospital.  He is doing much better so that's a good thing!

Thursday I heard from my doctor who had the results of my MRI.  A slight abnormality was found in the back of my brain.  Clot?  Tumor?  Shadow?  They don't know.  But it's very tiny and if they thought it was something life threatening, it would be taken care of immediately.  So they will do another scan in three months (August).  And here I thought I was done with it.  My doctor is the best, though, so I know if she thought it was serious she would be all over the techs and sending me somewhere else.  She told me not to stress over it but if anything changes with how I feel I'm to tell her immediately.  So here you go my praying friends.  You now have something to pray about for me.  I'm praying that when they do the second scan they will not find anything there.  I've seen it happen with other people, and I know God can do the same for me.

Friday afternoon I went to church and decorated the tables for the Ladies Brunch that was held yesterday.  I think it all turned out very nice.  I will be doing a separate post on that.  And on Joe's birthday which was also yesterday.

And now I think I had better go to bed or I will not be able to get up for church in another 7 hours.  I'm very tired so I know I will go right to sleep.

Take care, everyone and have a wonderful Sunday.

Kathy

  1. Our temps are up too but not into 90s til Monday and Tuesday...92. Cooler today because of cloud cover. I spent majority of my day cleaning house as we have friends over for lunch tomorrow. Get up and start stuff in crockpot and will be done when we get home. I will pray that whatever is within your brain will shrink and go away. Soon! I'm probably going to be in another women's Bible study for 8 weeks, starting second Monday of June. Looking forward to it. Always learn something to grow my faith walk. Good night!

  5. We seem to hit those 90 degree temps much earlier in the spring than we used to *sigh*.
Your garden is full of color and new promise, all screaming at once and saying "look at me, look at me " but how they make me smile :)
Sorry to hear you have to return for more tests, I surely hope and pray it is just a precautionary measure, that turns into nothing more serious.
Take good care of Joe and yourself, and I must admit to drooling over that food picture ...lol
    Hugs,
    ~Jo

    1. It is pretty in the warm weather, isn't it? It will look much better once I get a lot of those weeds cut back. I can do just a little at a time and then when I'm done, it's time to start over!

  8. Oh your chives beside your blue bench is lovely! That is where I would sit if I came to visit you. Love that!

I will be praying also that that little spot will disappear! Joe looks like he has lost weight, but I am glad he is feeling better. Wish I could lose some weight!

  9. Late in catching up, but glad to read that your doctor did nit feel that any immediate action is needed, Kathy. Not worrying is the hardest thing to overcome.
