BIBLE STUDY AND A PRAYER REQUEST

It was such a lovely day today.  The temperature got up to 76*F. (24*C.) and the sun was shining brightly.  Such a pretty day.

I worked so hard on my lesson for today.  There was so much to cover and I waited too long to start studying.  I was finally finished at 1:30 a.m.  I decided to wait until this morning to print it out.  And wouldn't you know it, the printer decided it needed to have the printer heads cleaned before it would print this morning.  It's always something.

The study went really well today.  I had five ladies besides myself which is the most ever.  There was a lot of participation which I really like.

This afternoon both my pastor and Joe had to go get x-rays.  Since they go to the same doctor, they were getting their x-rays at the same hospital.  So they decided to go together.  While they were gone I took a short nap.  I'm so tired.

They also went to see Miss Dottie from our church who is a patient in the hospital.  Dottie is 93 years old and in very poor health.  They are talking about putting her into hospice in a very few days.  Joe said she wasn't sure who they were and was very weak.  She said she wanted to sleep so after a few minutes they left.  Her daughter attends the Tuesday Bible Study and said Dottie is not expected to live very much longer.  After seeing her, Joe agrees.

Please pray for Miss Dottie.  She said she wants lots of prayers.  Please ask God to be with her as she goes through this time.  I'm already crying as I pray.  She is a special lady to me even though she always told me I was the special one.  Here is a picture of her from six years ago when she was healthy.

YOUTUBE VIDEOS
I finished the next series of videos I was watching.  It was the BBC's "Mary Beard's Ultimate Rome: Empire Without Limit."  There were four parts and all were excellent.  I especially liked part 2 which showed the city of Ephesus.  It was really cool to see Mary Beard walking the streets, standing next to the ruins of the library, etc. and knowing that on that very spot there once stood the apostle Paul and first century Christians.  It's one thing to see a photograph and something entirely different to see a person interacting with the building.  It would be even better to be there myself, but this is the next best thing.

The sunsets are prettier now.  Except for yesterday when it was raining.

For today, I couldn't decide which I liked better, so I gave you two pictures.

Tomorrow I have to get up early to put my car into the garage.  The windshield wiper on the passenger side broke and the headlight on the driver's side went out.  I figure I'll get the oil changed while it's there.  So since I can't go anywhere I will work on putting the kitchen back together.  It's a mess.

Talk to you all soon.

Kathy

  2. Praying for Miss Dottie in her last days on earth. It's hard to see friends go but we'll see them on the other side. So thankful for the promise of even. I have had problems with printers when I needed something now!! Glad your bible study went well. I'm thinking of doing a Bible study with book I just finished. Now I need to figure out when. Our weather's warmer too but still chilly at nite.

  4. Sorry to read about your friend, Miss Dottie, and agree that it's so hard to lose good friends and family. She seems to be at peace from what you posted, Kathy. The Peanuts cartoon was appropriate for here too as we have had two days of rainstorms.

I wish I lived close enough to go to your Bible Study. Louis Dean and I read the Bible together every morning and have prayer. I need to get out of bed and get a cup of coffee and do that now.
The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul. Hope you get your kitchen done!
