STILL CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY

I am feeling so much better the last two days.  Whatever I had, I think it's gone.  My fever broke, my stomach feels better and I have more energy.  I guess sleeping a lot really does help when you don't feel well.

I was going to the farm today but got so busy I never made it.  It doesn't matter too much because I just got my monthly order from Shop Rite, but I was looking forward to some fresh veggies.  Now I have to wait two weeks until the farmstand opens again.

I was busy because I went to dinner with two of my former co-workers.  They treated me to the Super China Buffet for my birthday.  This is the first time we have been able to get together.  It was so fun to be with them and see them again.  We three always have fun together.  Diane said it's no fun at work anymore without Donna and me.  (We have both retired.)

This is the same place that Joe and I went to last week.  I was a little nervous about eating there after the reaction I had, but I had nothing to worry about.  Tonight I got water instead of tea and everything was great.  I ate almost the same thing as last week with no bad reaction.  So now I know for sure it was the sweetener in the tea.  As long as I have water from now on I'll be fine.

I had such a good time that I didn't even think about taking pictures.  So I can't show you us being there.  Oh, well.  The fortune in my cookie said, "Soon, someone will make you very proud."  I wonder who.  And when.  And what.  Ha, ha!  Such fun.  I love Chinese food and when I worked in center city I ate it almost every day for lunch.

Donna and Diane not only paid for my dinner, they each got me a gift.  Diane got me a bunch of bags of candy and a cute flower pot to grow some basil.  Donna got me an Olivia Grace bath travel set. Both of my camera batteries are dead and so I am charging them now.  I can't take any pictures to show you, but I did find a picture of the set Donna gave me on the internet.

It's so cute in it's pretty travel bag and it smells so good.  There is body lotion, bath soap, shower gel and bath salts.

It was dark and very cold when we got out of the restaurant so I drove both Donna and Diane home.  Then I stopped at Chick-Fil-A and bought dinner for Joe.

It's been a really nice day.  But now I have to go and get things done before I can go to bed.  I still have a load of wash to dry and I have to take my medicine.  I think I'll get a cup of decaf tea too.  It's cold in here tonight.  Morning comes early and so does church.

Good night, everyone.

Kathy

  1. I'm glad you had a good time out with your friends for your birthday. Always fun to party through the month. I'm doing that this month. I am starting to feel better myself. I had to get myself to eat today, as I've not eaten much at all this week. Late breakfast and no lunch...then dinner. Not good but I'm slowly getting there. Your gifts sound nice.Headed for bed where it's a bit warmer. Not sure if there will be snow and ice here later Sunday or not. There's a threat! Again! Interesting weather we are having. Good night my friend!

    1. I've eaten at that restaurant for at least 8 years and never had any problem. So I knew it had to be something they were doing differently. Believe me, if I had gotten sick this time I would not have gone back.
