IT'S SNOWING

It's only flurries at the moment, but it's the first snow of the season.  We are supposed to get 1 to 2 inches.  We'll see.

Snow is not a favorite with me.  My whole body is hurting so badly.  The feet, the knees, the hips, the hands, the elbows, the shoulders, the back.  Not to mention the horrible indigestion I've had all day.  I'm just falling apart!  I know that as soon as we get warmer weather I will be fine again.  I need to move to the desert. 😄  Ha, ha!

I spent most of today sleeping.  Every now and then I do that.  I must need it because I always feel so much better the next day.

I also ate.  Too much.  The other day Joe bought me two coconut macaroons.  Yum!

I need to feel good for the next three days.  I have so much going on.  Tomorrow my friends Carol P. and Donna B. are taking me out for lunch for my birthday.  The three of us have been doing this all year, first for Carol and then for Donna.  Now it's my turn.  It's fun to be retired along with them and the three of us able to do this.  On Saturday Joe and I are meeting my brother Larry and sister-in-law Kim to celebrate my birthday and Larry's birthday.  His is 5 days after mine.  And Sunday, of course, is church.  I will need another nap when Monday comes!

I just looked out of the front window and the car is covered with snow but the pavement is still dry.  So it's not too bad... yet.

I'm still taking down Christmas and putting up snowmen.  Here is my snowman candle lamp.  I have a battery candle in it.  In case you can't read it, it says "Love Never Melts."  Sorry it's blurry.

And now I have to go get some sleep.  Yes, more.  I'll feel better tomorrow.  Until later...

  1. I guess we sent you those flurries---we had a surprise couple of inches on the ground when I first looked out yesterday, and it did a little confectioner's sugar dusting most of the day. Chris cleared the walk and both cars before he left, and soon Caro's was piled high again, like a wide muffin under all that sugar. We put off getting hers cleared until nearly time for her to go to work at dark, and she and I were all wrapped up, manning the brushes and scrapers, when Chris drove into the drive. (I'd already "walked the salt"---carried a little container all the way out to the cars, sprinkling ahead as I went, and I declare that stuff WORKS!! The sidewalk was absolutely ice-and-snow free when I came back into the house, like magic.

It was kinda fun out there for a bit, with us scraping and swooshing and shouting and laughing out there in such crisp air, and the words and sounds almost seemed to float visibly in the yard lights. Then she went her way, and we came in to warm toes and noses, and have our supper with a Netflix movie---unknown to us both, but brand new and excellent---Affleck's "The Accountant." Convoluted and a bit grim, but we both love a tricky puzzle, with lots of well-placed and constructed pieces to solve, and "heroes" with a CODE---sometimes only their own, but they stick to it.

Stay well and warm, faraway friend!

    1. Our snow was the heavy, wet kind. But there wasn't much of it and it didn't take long to clean off my car. It melted so quickly I didn't even have to clean the pavement.

  2. Kathy, Always test the footing after snow or rain in cold weather...you sure never want to fall. Be safe. Am I missing your birthday dear girl? Happy birthday to you, your friends and brother Larry. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
p.s. Kathy will you please have your friends pray for my big brother George...I'll post about it later. Thanks.

    1. Of course we will pray for George. No problem. Even if you test your footing there is always the off chance you will fall. That happened to my friend, Carol N. last year. She fell and broke her ankle in 3 places and is just now getting back to normal. My birthday was Dec. 29 and Larry's is Jan 3.

  3. We had snow overnight. Enough to cause some anxiety because I had to go away this morning but didn't have any issues, thank the good Lord!
Have fun celebrating your birthday with your family and friends!

  6. What day IS your birthday, Kathy? Happy Birthday!! We have snow and that is okay but what I hate is that we have such cold, cold weather. Our high today was 4° I think. I was supposed to have coffee with a friend today but she has RA and was in so much pain we cancelled. Her joints and her whole body aches-so I know a bit of what you are going through.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo Diana

    1. My birthday is Dec. 29. Our weather is in the 20s but not as cold as you are. I wouldn't be able to manage weather that cold. Between my cold-induced asthma and my arthritis I'd be in bad shape.

  7. Love the snowmen! You find the neatest things. I was able to walk Crystal but Russ walked Bella later as there were too many icy patches. You be careful & stay warm! Enjoy your lunch!

  8. I didn't realize that the cold did such a number on you! WOW! You need to move to Arizona. Oh, I love coconut macaroons, but they do not like me. I don't know what it is about coconut that does me in. Hope your snow has melted and the drive to church this morning was uneventful.

    1. I would love to move to Arizona. We cancelled church this morning. It was too dangerous to go out.
