LUNCH WITH THE LADIES AND A SURPRISE

Isn't this a pretty scene?  I would like to sit on that window seat and look out at the snow.  I may have a chance to do something similar since it is supposed to snow here from Thursday until Saturday.  Wow!

I am having such fun finding pretty pictures to show you during this season and hope you are enjoying them too.

Yesterday was my friend Donna's birthday.  My friend Carol, Donna and I went out to celebrate.  I picked up Donna, then went to Carol's house and picked up her, and the three of us went to the Country Club for lunch.  Donna got broiled tilapia, Carol got barbecued spare ribs and I got a BLT.  After I saw the ribs, I sort of wished I had gotten them.  But I wasn't very hungry and was afraid it would have been too much for me to eat.

Carol and I gave Donna birthday gifts over lunch.  She was so happy and very touched.  We had such a good time talking and eating that I forgot to take any pictures.  And that's OK.  I don't have to take pictures of everything.

I dropped Carol back home, and then brought Donna to my house so I could check on Joe.  He is better, but still not well.  I told him to stay in bed until I got back from taking Donna home.

While I was home to check on Joe I saw there were a bunch of packages on the sofa.  One of them was from my other friend, Donna D.  I know it's confusing.  I know four or five Carols and at least three Donnas.  *sigh*

But Donna D had surprised me and sent me a box of goodies that she had made.  Let me show you.

Two crocheted Christmas dish cloths.

Hard to see, but a little flower in a pot and a flowering cactus in a pot.  All crocheted and about an inch to two inches tall.

A crocheted cheeseburger for the Christmas tree and a beaded candy cane which she also made.

Two Oreo cookies about two inches across.

And two little crocheted gnomes.  So cute!  My sister has a couple and I was admiring them on Thanksgiving.  I said I'd love to have a couple and would write to her offering to pay for them.  I had no idea I would get them as a gift.

My sister and I both think she should open an Etsy shop and sell these things.  They are amazing work.

Tonight is Bible Study so I am going to end now and get dinner started.  We are beginning the book of Joshua.  I love this book.  There is so much to learn from it.

So until later...

  2. Oh! What fun to find something special like that in a gift package just for you! I think it was wonderful that you were able to get away for lunch with your girlfriends. That is so important to do things like that! I am sorry that Joe is still sick--I guess the bright side is that if he is sick now he will be well for Christmas (that is what I am praying for). Have a blessed night- xo Diana

  4. Move over...I'll sit on that sofa with you! Especially when one is warm & cozy inside. I agree about her starting an Etsy store. Those things are so cute! Since they would be one of a kind she'd probably make a bit of money. Sorry to hear about Joe, Will keep you both in prayer.
