I'VE MADE A START

Yesterday I got a burst of energy and actually got something done.  Maybe it was looking out of the kitchen window and seeing the glorious tree.  November and December are when our trees look their best.

Besides the usual laundry, dishes, etc. I attacked the kitchen table.  I cleaned all the junk off of it.  And boy was there a lot of junk!  I was shocked.  After I took everything off, went through everything and got rid of the junk, I scrubbed the table.  Then I set it for dinner.  Now doesn't it look nice?  It makes me so happy to look at it.

My mother-in-law gave me the cute little ornament bowl.  When she gave it to me it had some cheese spread in it and a little matching knife.  Now I use it for sweetener packets for Joe.  And cleaning up I lifted a bag on the table and found the little snowman.  Alright!  Just the right time to find him.  I think it looks so cute.

One of the things on the table were two Christmas mugs.  A friend at church gave them to us last year.  They were still in their plastic and had a little stuffed Santa in each.  I unwrapped them, put them in the dishwasher, and put the little Santas on the cabinet doors.  So adorable!

My friend Carole was able to take me to the garage this afternoon to get my car.  She had to go out though, so she dropped me off early.  I sat in the waiting room for about an hour until it was finished.  (I got a lot of reading done!)  But it was well worth it!  It drives like a brand new car.  Money will be tight this month, but that's OK.  I have almost everything done for Christmas.  It helps to do things early.

I made one of Joe's favorite meals for dinner last night -- macaroni and cheese.  I use the recipe from Ree Drummond.  It always turns out so good and the more I make it, the better I get at making it.

I have to run. Lots to do this afternoon.  Hope you have a good day!  Hopefully I'll be showing you more decorating tomorrow.

Until later...

Kathy

  1. Gee, and all I've found on the table are old receipts and torn envelopes! Good for you. Glad that you have your car back and that it is road-worthy.

    1. Thanks. I got this necklace at Rite Aid for about $5 or so. I love fake jewelry as much as I do the real thing.

    1. Thanksgiving was a lot of fun except for driving home in the dark. Not my favorite thing to do. I prayed the whole way. Thanks for your comment on my table. I am trying to be festive. I will feel better when I get more decorating done.
