PIE AND PRAISE 2016

Last night was our Pie and Praise Thanksgiving service at church.  This is a picture of last year because in the middle of filming Joe's message, my camera battery died.  I had a fully charged battery...  at home.  So no pictures.  *sigh*  But I did have a fantastic time.

The singing was great, the music was great, the time of sharing thanks was great and the two devotionals (one by Joe and one by Pastor Ralph) were great.  It was one of the best ones I had been too.  So meaningful.

And then, of course, there was pie.  Lots of pie.  Apple cranberry, sweet potato, strawberry chiffon and pumpkin.  I had the sweet potato and called it quits but most people had more than one slice and more than one kind.

Joe made the strawberry and it was a big hit.  I made the crust for him.  We wanted to have a gluten-free crust for those who couldn't have gluten so I made it from a recipe I found that used crushed Cheerios for the flour.  I didn't have a piece but I was told that it was good.  Carolyn used the same recipe but she used Honey Nut Cheerios as the recipe called for.  I had only regular Cheerios.  It seemed they both turned out good.

So sorry there are no pictures.  I really wanted to have some to post on our facebook page but that's the way it goes.  Oh well.

I'm baking bread now to take to my sister's house for dinner.  We will be leaving in a couple of hours to go.  It's a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.  I will be back later with LOTS of pictures to share with you.

Kathy

    1. My pastor's wife is gluten intolerant so we always try to accommodate her. But her mother was visiting and she is also gluten intolerant. I would definitely make you something gluten free too.
