ELECTION DAY

President Snoopy?  How does that sound?  Or you could always vote for me.

Don't I look good behind the podium?  For months I have been urging people on Facebook to write me in.  Ha, ha!

Joe and I got out early to go vote before he went to see the doctor.  As we were signing our names to the book I hear someone say, "Hi there!"  It was my doctor who was standing right behind me.  I told her I was going to call for an appointment to see her later this week.  She told me to call when I got home and tell them she said I was to go see her today.  I was surprised but she said she could tell just by looking at me that I was sick.  Wow!

Joe was talking to his friend who is our Committeeman.  I was sitting on the wall waiting for him and saw how pretty the trees were.  They are finally turning.  I told you it is usually the first week of November that they start looking good.

So after we voted...

...I took Joe to the doctor.  But I hadn't eaten and I hadn't brought my heart or stomach medicine with me.  So I dropped him off and went back home.  I took my medicine and ate.  Then I headed back to the doctor to get him.

After he got out, we headed over to the pharmacy to get his medication.  It's a puzzle getting around the neighborhood these days.  Lots of streets are closed and dug up.  I start to go down a street and suddenly there are cones and "Street Closed" signs.  Or police cars will be blocking the entrance with an officer waving you on away from the mess.  I will be so happy when I can actually drive on these streets again.

We were home about an hour when I had to leave for my doctor's appointment.  Joe and I use different doctors and different pharmacies.  I know it sounds strange, but it works for us.  My doctor's office was very crowded and even more so when I finally left 1 1/2 hours later.  She was just running from one person to another.  I felt sorry for her.  So I have a sinus infection.  I'm running a fever of around 100*.  Those two things is why I have a headache.  Fortunately nothing has gone down on my chest, so it was caught very early.  I have antibiotics to take and hopefully I will be good as new by the end of the week.  If only my stomach would calm down and I would stop feeling so nauseous.

When I went to pick up my medicine I saw this cute little gift box of Burt's Bees Lip Balm.  I love using Burt's Bees and so I got it as a gift.  For me!  My lips sure could use it and it was too cute to leave on the shelf.  Oh, I'm so bad when I'm sick.

I would love to write more, but I'm feeling very sick so I have to get off of here.  I hope you all have a very good night.

Kathy

    1. I guess it helps to have a doctor that lives two blocks from you.

  3. Great connection with your doctor! Love the photos of the trees! Couldn't wait for the colors! I voted & took my sticker to 7 eleven for a free cup of coffee! Good deal on the lip balm. Assortments
are always a deal. Hope you feel better soon!

    1. I didn't know that 7-11 was doing that. Joe did not take a sticker. Mine is stuck on the dashboard of the car -- for now. Aren't the trees looking great?

  4. I'm glad the election is finally over. Glad your dr was able to see you. Get some yogurt with active enzymes in it and eat a couple tablespoons of it to settle your tummy. Time change messes with my stomach and being sick doesn't help either. I havr yogurt in fridge constantly and I eat it and it helps me. Happy day my friend! Praying you both get better soon!

    1. I am glad the election is over too. I feel as if we have been in a war and now it needs to be healed.

  5. You have my sympathy. Sinus infections are terrible! Hopefully, the meds will kick in right away. I am the same way about the little gift sets available at this time of year. They are hard to resist. That looks like a good one.

    1. My doctor gave me a 5 day Z-pack so I am hoping in another day or two I will be back to myself. Hopefully by the weekend anyway. Today I've just been laying around trying to feel better. Oh yes, it is hard to resist those little sets. At least this is something I regularly use and it turned out to be about $1 less per stick than if I had bought them separately.

    1. The podium was at the Constitution Center in downtown Philly. Anyone could stand behind it and have their picture taken.
