CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'S NOVEMBER?

Where oh where does the time go?  Moving right along here.

Today was Ladies' Bible Study.  There is a public transportation strike going on here right now.  So I went to pick up Debbie to take her to church.  I thought the traffic would be terrible, especially because about 1/3 of the streets are torn up or closed off because of a massive job the city is doing replacing sewer pipes.  Now don't you wish you were doing that job?  But the traffic really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

After study we were going to go have lunch and then go food shopping.  We went back and forth on where to go.  We finally decided on the China Buffet.  But when we got there, they were repaving the parking lot.  We drove around and around in the part that wasn't roped off and there was no place to park.  So we left.  We were in the mood for Chinese though so decided to try the new Panda Express.

We weren't sure how it worked, but it was pretty easy.  You get a choice of white rice, fried rice or lo mein and then pick an entree to go on top.  You can also choose from things like spring rolls, egg rolls, ragoons, etc. to have on the side.  There are beverages to choose from too.

Debbie got fried rice and shrimp with green beans.

I got orange chicken over white rice.  Everything was really good.  It was a little expensive and we sure couldn't do it every week, but maybe once a month we could afford to stop in for lunch.

After we ate we headed to Shop Rite to do our shopping.  But the parking lot was so crowded we couldn't get a parking place.  After driving around for about 20 minutes, we left and went to Target to get the things we absolutely needed.

Knowing me, you know I headed for the dollar spot.  They were putting out their Christmas stuff.  Everything was so cute.

Isn't this little "Merry" sign adorable?  I don't know what I would do with it, but I like it.

Remember the cute little square fall plates I got with the gold and silver plaid?  You can see them HERE.  Here is the Christmas one.  I did get these to go with the other ones.  They also had ones with Christmas trees on them that said, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."  But I thought six plaid ones that I can use all year round was just enough.

We got what we needed and headed home.  I didn't get much else done because I was so tired.  And I still am.  It's supposed to be warm for the next two days, so I hope I can get some things done outside.

The Fall Harvest movie for today is "Lucky in Love" (2014).  When Mira's April Fool's Day tricks materialize, she finds herself promoted to the perfect job, dating the perfect man and living in the perfect home. Mira's newly upgraded life even involves working with her CEO and her good friend, on a coveted work project. When these seemingly positive changes result in big challenges, Mira realizes that the pursuit of perfection is a fool's errand. In order to achieve a life that's perfect for her, Mira must let go of perfection and chase what brings her true happiness

  1. My husband likes Panda Express...it's in the same town where he works. It is good food though and I've enjoyed it as well.Orange chicken is one of my favorite foods. Now he likes Noodles better, for some reason. I was wondering how the strike was affecting everyone? Annoying? Our store finally has Christmas lights out. Not getting any more. Good night!

  3. Your town sounds torn up (parts of mine are, too). It's going to be great when it is all back together again. Kathy, you have succeeded! Now I want orange chicken AND a shopping trip to Target...
