HARVEST DAY 2016

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain on the windows.  Looking out I saw gray skies and pouring rain.  I mean pouring.  What a day to have our Harvest Day.

I started the day by making some blueberry muffins for breakfast.  They turned out really good.

I was soaking wet when I got to church.  Carolyn and Debbie helped me bring in my five bags and a case of water.  I had lots to get in!  I spent a few minutes getting everything either put into the fridge, put on the table or set out.  Then I went upstairs to the worship service.

It was such an excellent service.  We sang a new to us hymn which I really liked.  I hope we sing it a few more times so that I can learn it.  And the message was great.  Joe was still sick and not able to come and I told him he really missed out.  I will put the link to the message on the blog later this week because it's something everyone should hear.

After the service I ran downstairs and started cooking the hot dogs and hamburgers.  A lot of people wanted cheeseburgers so Dorothea ran home to get cheese.  She lives three doors from the church so it didn't take long at all.

There weren't very many people that came to church and so not very many stayed for lunch.  So much food!  But we all had a good time.  Such a good time that I didn't remember to take pictures until after we had almost finished eating.

We really did have a lot of fun and those who didn't show up missed out.

I was so tired though, that when I got home I took a nap!  I have been up for awhile but now I am ready to go back to sleep again.  So I think that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Until later...

Kathy

    1. I'm just sorry more people didn't show up. The weather was horrible and I think that's what it was.

    1. Hope Russ is feeling better. Joe is still sick so I'm going to try to get him a doctor's appointment today. What's wrong with our husbands? I wish you could have stayed too. There was so much food! Hope you got some of Pastor Ralph's macaroni salad. It was wonderful!

    1. I brought home 16 hamburgers, 12 hot dogs, rolls and a sample of two of the salads. Oh, the left over chocolate too. There was so much food left. We have cakes and pies for Fellowship Time for the next two months!

    1. I don't think I do a lot. If there were more people there, there would be a bigger pool of people to call on. We all do what we can. I will try to get the message up in a day or two.
