IT'S GOING TO BE A BUSY WEEK!

I don't know how shining I'm going to be since it is almost 3:30 a.m. and I am up finishing up my lesson for Bible Study tomorrow and making a "to do" list.  This is going to be a busy week.

The work crew from Grace Bible Fellowship Church is here!  Monday there were 14 people that showed up.  I made lunch for them.  I had turkey meatballs in tomato sauce in the crockpot.  Then I ran to Shop Rite and bought rolls, pasta salad, potato chips, coleslaw, fruit, donuts, iced tea and lemonade.  Everything went.  They were hungry after working all morning.

We are providing lunch again today.  I ordered lunch meat, cheese, bread and potato salad which I will pick up before lunch.

I overslept yesterday and so did not get to the devotional time.  Joe and I hope to go today but since I am up now, it may end up that I just drop him off and then come back to get ready to pick up my ladies and go to study.  I hope I get there at least a couple of times this week.

I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon.  So it will be cutting things tight, but I think I can fit everything in.  I will just be running around a little bit.

I am so grateful that I am retired and able to do these things.  This is not an ordinary week and that's OK.  These people who are giving up their time and money and effort are so grateful to US for the opportunity to serve us.  They told Joe and me today that they are blessed to be there helping the church.  Is that a wonderful attitude or what?  So I feel it is my privilege to serve them a meal.

I thought I would show you a few pictures from the last few days.  Isn't this sunset unusual?  It almost looks as if the tree is on fire.  But it's a cloud.

I got my new Julep box today.  I got bronzer, a bronzing brush and two new nail polishes.  The reddish one is called "Stephanie" and the amber one is "Zori".  I think Zori will be perfect for the fall.  Both of them have diamond dust in them so that they sparkle.  So pretty.

Lastly I made muffins for study tomorrow.  It's a new recipe using rice flour.  They look good but I was running out of batter so I poured them a little low.  I will know next time to make a double batch.  The recipe was for two dozen mini muffins so I thought it would make a dozen regular sized.  Not so.  My study is going to be guinea pigs tomorrow because I have no idea how they are going to taste.  If they are good, I am going to get craisins to add to it and make it for Fellowship Time before church one Sunday.  The color on top is pink sparkling sugar that I added.  It's what I got in Lancaster County last week.

And so that's it for now.  I'm going to try to get a couple of hours of sleep before I need to get up and get started with the day.  That is if I can keep my eyes off of the Olympics.  I love the summer games and I am intrigued by the cycling, swimming, diving and gymnastics.

Until later...
Kathy

  1. Pretty colors in the Julep box! Such a mood lifter. What a wonderful group from Grace Bible! Just having people like that in your day can be a blessing. The muffins look yummy & I like the idea of the sprinkled sugar.

    1. I do like getting my Julep box. They are always all wrapped up like a birthday gift and it's just like having a birthday each month.

The muffins turned out good although they stuck to the paper cups. I will have to grease them next time.

  2. Kathy, You will be thanking your lucky stars to be retired...because sometimes you will be chasing your own tail. LOL. I can't believe how it seems we have even more to do and we are not working. How does that happen. Hope you get a relaxing day soon. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. No relaxing day until next week. I know what you mean about having more to do since I've been retired. I used to say I had to go back to work in order to rest up from my vacations.

    1. Only busy on occasion. There are times I just sit and watch TV or read. And I take naps too.
