HELLO AUGUST

I'll finish up with my vacation posts tomorrow.  Just wanted to say hello.  How did it get to be August?  How am I retired for 7 months already?  Why isn't my house spotless, my meals planned ahead and my wardrobe pared down?  How do the days pass so quickly?  It's afternoon already and I feel as if I've done nothing.

A few nights ago the sky was so threatening, but the sun was shining on the leaves of the tree.  How did that happen?

We've been having a lot of rain and we really need it.  As soon as it dries up I have to get out there and cut the grass.

I didn't get to church yesterday because I was feeling so sick.  I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me.  By last night I was feeling much better and I'm fine today.

Enough of my rant.  I have to get something done around here.  Have a good day!

Kathy

  1. I am glad to see August! At long last perhaps life will start to slow down a bit! We had rain in June and Juky but we're not expecting one drop in August so we must crank up our watering routine a notch or two!

    1. You never seem to have a slow life except when you are on the ranch. At least June and July gave you some needed moisture. Hope your plants make it through August.

    1. The weather really has been different this year. Very hot! Very dry then very wet. At least my tomato plant finally has some buds on it. I might get some tomatoes by October.

  3. Yes, Hello August! I never like to see August come because it gets so dry around here and my flowers bite the dust. Today I dumped out three pots and put up new ones that I had been keeping in the shade for such a time as this.

    Glad you are feeling better.

  4. I love the sun/rain combo! I was in Georgia when I experienced my first sunshower. It was raining with the sun shining! Really cool!.The tree shot is great.
