THE DAY AFTER -- IT'S LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED

If I hadn't been there yesterday, I wouldn't have believed Joe had been in the hospital.  He is back to himself and says he feels wonderful.  He is watching what he is eating, but otherwise he's himself again.  I know he had over 50 people praying for him and we believe that is the reason he recovered so quickly.

This morning I made apple cinnamon muffins for breakfast.  They were so good with my cup of tea.

Around lunch time Joe says he wants to go out for lunch -- his treat.  I looked at him and said, "But you were just in the hospital yesterday!"  He said, "I feel fine."  So we ended up at East Coast Wings and Grill, one of our favorite places.  Joe wanted an appetizer and chose Pub Pretzels.  They were described in the menu as hot soft pretzels.  I said they would be too heavy and I didn't want any.  But when they came, they were nothing like what we expected.

They are very light and airy and oh so good.  Joe ate one and then insisted I try one.

Ever since I took that picture of Joe with his ice cream on Father's Day he keeps making this pose.  *sigh*  I just humor him. Ha, ha,

Joe was very good with his meal.  He had a chef's salad with no dressing.

You know I had to try the flavor of the month on my wings -- Bacon Ranch.  And I got their homemade potato chips too.  It was good, but not my favorite flavor.

After we ate we went next door to Shop Rite to get a few things.  I was looking for something else, but found this beautiful rose scented candle.  It smells so good that I had to get it.  It was only $1.99.  I like to have a candle burning in the living room in the evening.

Have you ever tried these?  Cashews with pomegranate and vanilla.  Someone at work gave them to me for Christmas last year and they are so good.  I saw them at the checkout line and splurged.  They aren't cheap, but worth every penny.

I was really happy today to find one of my favorite pair of earrings.  I was in the bathroom and saw something shining on the floor.  I bent down to pick it up and there they were.  Still on the card.  I had another pair exactly like this but I lost one of them in Tennessee.  I went to Rite Aid and bought another pair and promptly lost them too.  They must have stuck to something and ended up on the floor somehow.  Where they've been for the past four months is anyone's guess.  They are crystals that change color in the light.

I didn't get a lot done around the house today, but anything is something in my book.  Snowy, however, feels I am ignoring her.  She has squeezed between me and the computer in order to get my attention.  She really is a sweet cat.  But sometimes I guess I do ignore her when I get busy.

It's very late and I need to get some sleep.  Until later...

Kathy

    1. The muffins are a Jiffy mix. Really easy. Get a box next time you go to Shop Rite. Just add one egg and 1/4 cup milk. Yes, do try the Pub Pretzels. I think you'll like them. They are nothing like what I thought they would be. There's a lot of salt on them, though. We knocked most of it off before we ate them.

  2. I glad Joe is feeling better. Yummy food. I make my own biscuits and muffins from scratch. Make enough to freeze and use later if you don't use them next day or so. Better without all the ingredients put in pkg ones. Just a thought. Happy that you found your earrings. I need to get on the move this morning and figuring out my shopping list for the week. God bless!

    1. I like making things from scratch too. Never freeze them though. They are gone in a day or two.

  5. Kathy, I am so glad your Joe is home and feeling well. Happy you found your new earrings. I wish I could replace a pair that I have lost just one of. So I did get those 50 dollars silver hoops for less than eleven dollars... remember? But I have been wearing a really cheap pair for a few days now. I usually just pop the same ones on everyday. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. I rarely wear earrings even though I love them and have lots of pairs. They bother my ears a lot. I know what you mean, though. I have tons of jewelry but tend to wear the same thing all the time.

    1. I was really scared on Thursday when I had to take Joe to the hospital. I was sure he was going to have emergency surgery. How thankful I am that that wasn't the case. So many people were praying for him and I'm sure that made the difference. So the fact that he wanted to go out to lunch yesterday and was feeling wonderful was such a blessing

    2. I am glad to hear that Joe is so much better after being in the hospital. I do believe in prayer and I know that God our Father helped him get better.

Your muffins look absolutely delish! I wish I could eat a regular muffin. I have to have Gluten free.

      Glad you found your earrings!
