IT'S SUNDAY

It was a strange day at church.  Elder Bud couldn't be there so there was no one to play an instrument for us to sing to.  Elder Joe...  well he got up to go and then was in so much pain from a couple of slipped disks in his back and was still suffering from his stomach that he couldn't go to church.  That meant there were no elders there and I was the only one available to open the church.  On top of that it was my week to bring the food for the Fellowship Hour.

So I quickly made some blueberry and some corn muffins and got myself ready for church.  I got there almost an hour early.

I opened the church, collected the mail, set up the chorus books, made up the sign up sheet for Fellowship Time and set up the camera to tape the message.  What I had trouble with was getting the sound system on.  I just could not figure it out.  I checked all the wires and plugs, the mic, the soundboard, nothing.

Elder Sean Fox from Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Sinking Spring, PA was our guest speaker today.  He has been with us many times before so he was able to handle the entire service himself.  We were so thankful to have him and his wife there.  He was able to fix the sound system too.

I will be so happy when we finally have a new pastor.  My life will be so much easier.  And we really need a shepherd in the church.  It has been a year since our last pastor left.  Elder Sean and I were laughing about how slowly the Bible Fellowship denomination moves and said this was pretty fast for them.

This afternoon Joe said he was feeling better.  He has been up and down a few times and even came down for dinner and sat up for awhile.

I had boneless pork chops (plain for Joe and seasoned for me), homemade mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.  That corn was so sweet and good.  It's the first we have had this season.  There is nothing like Jersey corn.

I really have to get to cleaning this place.  It is so out of control.  I know I say this all the time but it really is.  And we are expecting company this week so I have no excuse.

And because I want to get up early tomorrow and start on this, I'm going to go to bed.  Have a good night everyone.

Kathy

    1. It seems every day of my life is busy any more. I didn't get a lot of cleaning done, but the way I look at it anything is better than nothing. Good luck downsizing. I would hate to pack up everything I have to move.
