INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Hope you have all had a wonderful and relaxing day.  My day has been great.  Looking at my to-do list I don't think I've crossed all that much off of it.  But I still have the rest of tonight and some of tomorrow before we go away.  I would like to spend some time on the beach at Atlantic City, but I doubt that will happen.  I think we will be spending time in the casinos because I am so interested in seeing what they are like and to taste some of the treats they have in the restaurants there.  We'll see.

The day has been so nice.  It was sunny all day, but now it looks as if it will pour any minute.

This morning I made a flower arrangement for the kitchen counter.  It is right by the Keurig where I will see it every day.  I love my roses with the raindrops.  The other roses are made out of wood.  And I have a pretty butterfly in it too.

I went to Rite Aid this morning and got some great buys.

I love this dish.  I have loved it since April.  Today I finally bought it.

Look at this pretty tissue paper.  It's so unusual!

They had blinged out composition books.  Those lines are made out of sparkly crystals.

And spiral ring notebooks with crystals.  I debated about getting one and finally decided to just put it back.

I spent a lot more money than I had anticipated, but got a lot of good sales.  I made a little video for you about my trip.

I had a hot dog, some chips and iced tea for lunch.  Joe had nothing because he wasn't feeling well.  But he says he will try to eat dinner.

We just got back from Shop Rite.  Who goes food shopping on the Fourth of July?  We do.  We just had to pick up a few things for dinner and to take with us tomorrow.  We were in and out in a flash.  I was actually surprised by how many people were in the store.

For dinner tonight I'm having a rotisserie chicken, potato salad (no I didn't make it this time), the chips and salsa, and watermelon for dessert.  I'll get things together in about half an hour.

I'm going to do a little bit of straightening up and then make dinner.  Hope you have had a wonderful day.

Kathy

  1. Kathy, You are a smarty pants !! :):) I see you have learned to post little film clips. I wish I could do this. So fun hearing your voice makes you so much more real to me. I loved hearing you tell us what all you bought. I like the hands with the birds. Perfect bird feeder or water dish. Cute USA shirt too. Have a fun safe trip. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. I have been doing youtube videos for about ten months for church. Just today I had time to fool around with it and figure out how to give myself a second channel so that I could have one devoted to church and one devoted to blogging. It took awhile and I was frustrated for a bit but it finally worked! I will be doing more of this. Blogger lets you post things that are 30 seconds or less. Sometimes I need more time than that.

Thanks for your good wishes. I think I will be having fun for the next couple of days.

  2. The birds in the hands quite interesting piece you bought. A cute addition to your backyard. It was fun to see your videos and hear you speak. I would like to do that eventually, maybe use my big camera. Hope you have a good relaxing time away. I've been busy since Thurs, which was my vacation day from work. Gone every day except for Sat. It's been a good time though! Now I have to work tomorrow but only for 3 days. Looking forward to a getaway for us in a few weeks!

    1. I love that dish. I ended up putting water in it and putting it near to where I feed the stray cats. I've been looking for a way to give them water in this hot weather. I did the videos with just my little point and shoot. I tape the messages on Sunday that way too. Try to take it easy and hold out for that vacation.

  3. The butterfly really accents the roses. You got quite a haul! I like the dish too. Makes me think of the song "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands". Don't ask me why. Praying you have a safe & relaxing trip.
