A LAZY WEEKEND

I'm having a lazy weekend this week.  You know what those are, don't you?  It's where you watch TV, surf the internet, and sleep.  I've done all three.  I am catching up on all my shows.  It's amazing how much I manage to record and never have time to watch.  I'm getting there though.

I also am getting caught up on my youtube videos.  I subscribe to four channels.  The one I'm trying to get through right now is Mrs. Erica.  She is a nice southern lady from Mobile, AL who has all kinds of organizational, decorating, and homemaking hints.  I went back to the very beginning (December 2014) and have been watching them in order.  That way they make sense since she refers to previous posts as she goes along.  I am up to February 2015.  That sounds like a lot, but since she posts about once every five days it really isn't.  I am getting lots of good ideas from her that I am actually using!  I'll have to show you some of my DIY projects.

I also cut the grass yesterday.  It needed it badly.  So while Joe was asleep, I took my little self out to the yard and cut away.  I had to stop twice because my back was killing me, but it's done and looks nice.  Now I have to get to the weeding.  But not today.

I've also been cleaning up the living room.  Does it ever need it!  Who am I kidding?  Every room in the house needs a major overhaul.  But Joe and I are going away for an overnight down Atlantic City and I want the house looking semi-acceptable for our friend Carole who is coming to take care of Snowy.  The whole house will get done eventually.  Just not this week.  The hardest part is keeping clean what is already done.

I got a load of wash done yesterday too.  I need some jeans to go away.  And so that's how it is.

On Sunday I try to just relax and rest.  I must need the rest, too, because yesterday I sat down on the sofa and fell asleep sitting up.  I slept that way for about four hours.  I'm exhausted so much of the time.  That's why I think getting away will be good for me although sometimes vacations are more stressful than staying home!  (see my posts from February on going to Memphis, TN)

So that's what is going on.  Tomorrow will be a busy day getting ready to go away in spite of it being a holiday.  Tuesday I teach the Ladies' Bible Study then leave for the shore.  Wednesday we come back and Joe teaches the Mid-Week Bible Study.  I think Thursday and Friday are pretty free.  I think.  Then it's Saturday and getting  ready for Sunday.  Weeks just fly by in my world.

Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday.

Until later...

Kathy

    1. Our yard isn't that big. I've used the weed whacker on it for years. It takes about 10 minutes to do the whole thing if I don't stop. But my arthritis and bulging disks in my spine make that pretty much impossible these days. I don't want Joe doing it since he had such a bad reaction doing it over at church. Hope you have a good Fourth of July too!

    1. Terri, thanks for stopping by! I checked out your blog and it's really nice. I have to get some time to get over there and read it. I like that you have an ancestry blog too. I am really into my ancestry. I'll have to tell some of it here sometime. It's not too hot here today, but I just give myself one day a week to do nothing. Have a Happy Fourth of July!

  3. We are doing the very same thing!!! I know what you mean about keeping the CLEAN rooms CLEAN!! I always start at one end of the house and work my way through. It can take a whole week! I did the same thing with the back yard....although it is side decks and the gazebo that is MY part of the back!
Have fun on your trip and take photos to share!!! That's the only way I get to travel these daus - through others!!!

    1. Right now it is taking me a couple of weeks on each room! It has been a long time since I went through everything and threw things out or put them away somewhere. I decided to do a thorough cleaning like I haven't been able to do when I was working. It's amazing what I'm finding.

You know I'm taking pictures this week. My brother and sister-in-law have a condo on the 19th floor and he has been sharing pictures ever since he got there.

  4. I agree that keeping the clean rooms clean is an ongoing thing in itself. Glad you're taking a day. The shore can be soothing, walking on the beach or just listening to the waves. I love listening to water. Have a happy & safe 4 th!

    1. Don't know how much beach time I'm going to be getting since I'm going to see the casinos. I'll let you know how that goes.

  5. I listened to some of Mrs. Erica's videos. I will have to look at more to see her tips on organization. Hope you will have a great time at the beach.

    1. I watch youtube more than Tv I think. Mrs. Eric's is entertaining and informative. I got 3 good recipes from her today. And I will never be as organized as she is.
