A DAY AT THE HOSPITAL

Today was not at all like I expected.  I thought I would be at the shore.  Instead...

We sat in the waiting room for an hour.  Joe fell asleep.
Needless to say I went outside and called everyone in our Bible study and cancelled it for tonight.

After an hour we went back to a room where Joe was given a gown and we waited for another hour for a doctor to examine him.

He took a nap for awhile.  I left him to go use the restroom.

When I came back there was dinner for both of us.

We had turkey sandwiches on whole wheat bread, unsweetened applesauce and graham crackers with cups of ice water.

The doctor said if he could keep the food down with no problem he could go home.  Well after a half hour he was still fine, so he was sent home.

It has been a long day.  The good news is Joe is so much better.  I'm looking forward to a better day tomorrow with a lot less drama.

    1. Well, the shore isn't going anywhere. We are hoping to make it down in the next couple of weeks. But when it gets cooler. It's too hot to do anything these days.

    1. Nope, my life is not dull. And people thought I'd be bored if I retired. Hah! After spending seven hours in the hospital, I was glad to go home.

  3. I am so sorry that your plans fell through, but I remember thinking, "Why is Joe sick and still going to the beach?" I am so glad that he is feeling better. Now you can go when you both feel well and that will be a good day!

    1. When we are both well and it's cooler. It's in the high 90s and it feels like 105*. Maybe in September.
