MOTHER'S DAY

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.  I miss being able to be with my mom, grandmom and great-grandmom on this day.  I am so fortunate to have godly women that came before me.

Here's a picture of my mom.

I'm told all the time how much we look alike.  And we do.  There's no denying I came from her!

This morning I ran to Shop Rite for some red and white carnations.  The tradition is you get a red carnation if your mom is alive and a white one if she is dead.  We used to do this all the time in the church I grew up in.  We have never done it in our current church but I didn't think anyone would mind if I started it.  And they didn't.  They all loved it.  I got 20 flowers and brought 4 home.

Before I left there was a downpour with thunder and lightening and then the sun came out and the rest of the day was beautiful.  I asked Joe what that big ball of fire in the sky was.  He said he thought it was called the sun but wasn't sure because he hadn't seen it in so long.

When we got to church there was a robin in the yard.  I grabbed my camera and went to take a picture and it turned right towards me.  I got a great shot.  But what a ham!

After church Joe and I went to East Coast Wings and Grill for lunch/dinner.  I got the wings with Smoky Barbecue sauce which was their flavor of the month and sweet potato fries.  It was really good.

Joe got a Buffijita Bowl.  It had rice, black beans, bell peppers and grilled chicken.  He said he would get it again.

Joe had been up all night last night so he went to bed early.  Really early.  Like around 6:00 p.m.  So we did not have dinner.  I made myself eggs and bacon and he didn't eat at all.

I missed my 8:00 p.m. sky photo and ended up taking it closer to 8:30 p.m.  But my reward for that was I got to see the crescent moon in the sky.

Look, there's no rain! Tomorrow is supposed to be nice too.  Kevin is coming over to help me in the yard.  Hopefully I will get my sunflower seeds planted.

And now I've got to get some sleep.  Have a nice night everyone.

Kathy
